Chapter 14

1  Hiram's kindness to David.  2  David's felicity in people, wives, and children.  8  His two victories over the Philistines.

        14:1 ¶ Now Hiram 2438 8676z 2361y king 4428 of Tyre 6865 sent 7971 8799z messengers 4397 to 413x David, 1732 and timber 6086 of cedars, 730 with masons 7023 2796x and carpenters, 2796 6086x to build 1129 8800z him an house. 1004

        14:2 And David 1732 perceived 3045 8799z that 3588x the LORD 3068 had confirmed 3559 8689z him king 4428 over 5921x Israel, 3478 for 3588x his kingdom 4438 was lifted up 5375 8738z on high, 4605 because of 5668x his people 5971 Israel. 3478

        14:3 ¶ And David 1732 took 3947 8799z more 5750x wives 802 at Jerusalem: 3389 and David 1732 begat 3205 8686z more 5750x sons 1121 and daughters. 1323

        14:4 Now these 428x [are] the names 8034 of [his] children 3205 8803z which 834x he had 1961x in Jerusalem; 3389 Shammua, 8051 and Shobab, 7727 Nathan, 5416 and Solomon, 8010

        14:5 And Ibhar, 2984 and Elishua, 474 and Elpalet, 467

        14:6 And Nogah, 5052 and Nepheg, 5298 and Japhia, 3309

        14:7 And Elishama, 476 and Beeliada, 1182 and Eliphalet. 467

        14:8 ¶ And when the Philistines 6430 heard 8085 8799z that 3588x David 1732 was anointed 4886 8738z king 4428 over 5921x all 3605x Israel, 3478 all 3605x the Philistines 6430 went up 5927 8799z to seek 1245 8763z 853x David. 1732 And David 1732 heard 8085 8799z [of it], and went out 3318 8799z against 6440 them.

        14:9 And the Philistines 6430 came 935 8804z and spread 6584 8799z themselves in the valley 6010 of Rephaim. 7497

        14:10 And David 1732 enquired 7592 8799z of God, 430 saying, 559 8800z Shall I go up 5927 8799z against 5921x the Philistines? 6430 and wilt thou deliver 5414 8804z them into mine hand? 3027 And the LORD 3068 said 559 8799z unto him, Go up; 5927 8798z for I will deliver 5414 8804z them into thine hand. 3027

        14:11 So they came up 5927 8799z to Baalperazim; 1188 and David 1732 smote 5221 8686z them there. 8033x Then David 1732 said, 559 8799z God 430 hath broken in 6555 8804z 853x upon mine enemies 341 8802z by mine hand 3027 like the breaking forth 6556 of waters: 4325 therefore 5921x 3651x they called 7121 8804z the name 8034 of that 1931x place 4725 Baalperazim. 1188

        14:12 And when they had left 5800 8799z 853x their gods 430 there, 8033x David 1732 gave a commandment, 559 8799z and they were burned 8313 8735z with fire. 784

        14:13 And the Philistines 6430 yet 5750x again 3254 8686z spread themselves abroad 6584 8799z in the valley. 6010

        14:14 Therefore David 1732 enquired 7592 8799z again 5750x of God; 430 and God 430 said 559 8799z unto him, Go not up 5927 8799z 3808x after 310 them; turn away 5437 8685z from 4480x 5921x them, and come 935 8804z upon them over against 4136 4480x the mulberry trees. 1057

        14:15 And it shall be, 1961x when thou shalt hear 8085 8800z 853x a sound 6963 of going 6807 in the tops 7218 of the mulberry trees, 1057 [that] then 227x thou shalt go out 3318 8799z to battle: 4421 for 3588x God 430 is gone forth 3318 8804z before 6440 thee to smite 5221 8687z 853x the host 4264 of the Philistines. 6430

        14:16 David 1732 therefore did 6213 8799z as 834x God 430 commanded 6680 8765z him: and they smote 5221 8686z 853x the host 4264 of the Philistines 6430 from Gibeon 1391 4480x even to 5704x Gazer. 1507

        14:17 And the fame 8034 of David 1732 went out 3318 8799z into all 3605x lands; 776 and the LORD 3068 brought 5414 8804z 853x the fear 6343 of him upon 5921x all 3605x nations. 1471
