Chapter 22

1  Ahab, seduced by false prophets, according to the word of Micaiah, is slain at Ramoth-gilead.  37  The dogs lick up his blood, and Ahaziah succeedeth him.  41  Jehoshaphat's good reign.  45  His acts.  50  Jehoram succeedeth him.  51  Ahaziah's evil reign.

        22:1 ¶ And they continued 3427 8799z three 7969 years 8141 without 369x war 4421 between 996x Syria 758 and Israel. 3478

        22:2 And it came to pass 1961x in the third 7992 year, 8141 that Jehoshaphat 3092 the king 4428 of Judah 3063 came down 3381 8799z to 413x the king 4428 of Israel. 3478

        22:3 And the king 4428 of Israel 3478 said 559 8799z unto 413x his servants, 5650 Know 3045 8804z ye that 3588x Ramoth 7433y in Gilead 1568y 7433x [is] ours, and we 587x [be] still, 2814 8688z [and] take 3947 8800z 4480x it not out of the hand 3027 4480x of the king 4428 of Syria? 758

        22:4 And he said 559 8799z unto 413x Jehoshaphat, 3092 Wilt thou go 3212y 8799z 1980x with 854x me to battle 4421 to Ramothgilead? 7433 1568y And Jehoshaphat 3092 said 559 8799z to 413x the king 4428 of Israel, 3478 I [am] as thou 3644y [art], my people 5971 as thy people, 5971 my horses 5483 as thy horses. 5483

        22:5 And Jehoshaphat 3092 said 559 8799z unto 413x the king 4428 of Israel, 3478 Enquire, 1875 8798z I pray thee, 4994x at 853x the word 1697 of the LORD 3068 to day. 3117

        22:6 Then the king 4428 of Israel 3478 gathered 6908y 0z the prophets 5030y together, 6908 8799z 853x 5030x about four 702 hundred 3967 men, 376 and said 559 8799z unto 413x them, Shall I go 3212y 8799z 1980x against 5921x Ramothgilead 7433 1568y to battle, 4421 or 518x shall I forbear? 2308 8799z And they said, 559 8799z Go up; 5927 8798z for the Lord 136 shall deliver 5414 8799z [it] into the hand 3027 of the king. 4428

        22:7 And Jehoshaphat 3092 said, 559 8799z [Is there] not 369x here 6311x a prophet 5030 of the LORD 3068 besides, 5750 that we might enquire 1875 8799z of 4480x 854x him?

        22:8 And the king 4428 of Israel 3478 said 559 8799z unto 413x Jehoshaphat, 3092 [There is] yet 5750x one 259 man, 376 Micaiah 4321 the son 1121 of Imlah, 3229 by 4480x 854x whom we may enquire 1875 8800z of 853x the LORD: 3068 but I 589x hate 8130 8804z him; for 3588x he doth not 3808x prophesy 5012 8691z good 2896 concerning 5921x me, but 3588x 518x evil. 7451 And Jehoshaphat 3092 said, 559 8799z Let not 408x the king 4428 say 559 8799z so. 3651x

        22:9 Then the king 4428 of Israel 3478 called 7121 8799z 413x an 259 officer, 5631 and said, 559 8799z Hasten 4116 8761z [hither] Micaiah 4321 the son 1121 of Imlah. 3229

        22:10 And the king 4428 of Israel 3478 and Jehoshaphat 3092 the king 4428 of Judah 3063 sat 3427 8802z each 376 on 5921x his throne, 3678 having put on 3847 8794z their robes, 899 in a void place 1637 in the entrance 6607 of the gate 8179 of Samaria; 8111 and all 3605x the prophets 5030 prophesied 5012 8693z before 6440 them.

        22:11 And Zedekiah 6667 the son 1121 of Chenaanah 3668 made 6213 8799z him horns 7161 of iron: 1270 and he said, 559 8799z Thus 3541x saith 559 8804z the LORD, 3068 With these 428x shalt thou push 5055 8762z 853x the Syrians, 758 until 5704x thou have consumed 3615 8763z them.

        22:12 And all 3605x the prophets 5030 prophesied 5012 8737z so, 3651x saying, 559 8800z Go up 5927 8798z to Ramothgilead, 7433 1568y and prosper: 6743 8685z for the LORD 3068 shall deliver 5414 8804z [it] into the king's 4428 hand. 3027

        22:13 And the messenger 4397 that 834x was gone 1980 8804z to call 7121 8800z Micaiah 4321 spake 1696 8765z unto 413x him, saying, 559 8800z Behold 2009x now, 4994x the words 1697 of the prophets 5030 [declare] good 2896 unto 413x the king 4428 with one 259 mouth: 6310 let thy word, 1697 I pray thee, 4994x be 1961x like the word 1697 of one 259 of them, 4480x and speak 1696 8765z [that which is] good. 2896

        22:14 And Micaiah 4321 said, 559 8799z [As] the LORD 3068 liveth, 2416 what 834x the LORD 3068 saith 559 8799z unto 413x me, that will I speak. 1696 8762z

        22:15 ¶ So he came 935 8799z to 413x the king. 4428 And the king 4428 said 559 8799z unto 413x him, Micaiah, 4321 shall we go 3212y 8799z 1980x against 413x Ramothgilead 7433 1568y to battle, 4421 or 518x shall we forbear? 2308 8799z And he answered 559 8799z 413x him, Go, 5927 8798z and prosper: 6743 8685z for the LORD 3068 shall deliver 5414 8804z [it] into the hand 3027 of the king. 4428

        22:16 And the king 4428 said 559 8799z unto 413x him, How 5704x many 4100x times 6471 shall I 589x adjure 7650 8688z thee that 834x thou tell 1696 8762z 413x me nothing 3808x but 7535x [that which is] true 571 in the name 8034 of the LORD? 3068

        22:17 And he said, 559 8799z I saw 7200 8804z 853x all 3605x Israel 3478 scattered 6327 8737z upon 413x the hills, 2022 as sheep 6629 that 834x have not 369x a shepherd: 7462 8802z and the LORD 3068 said, 559 8799z These 428x have no 3808x master: 113 let them return 7725 8799z every man 376 to his house 1004 in peace. 7965

        22:18 And the king 4428 of Israel 3478 said 559 8799z unto 413x Jehoshaphat, 3092 Did I not 3808x tell 559 8804z 413x thee that he would prophesy 5012 8691z no 3808x good 2896 concerning 5921x me, but 3588x 518x evil? 7451

        22:19 And he said, 559 8799z Hear 8085 8798z thou therefore 3651x the word 1697 of the LORD: 3068 I saw 7200 8804z 853x the LORD 3068 sitting 3427 8802z on 5921x his throne, 3678 and all 3605x the host 6635 of heaven 8064 standing 5975 8802z by 5921x him on his right hand 3225 4480x and on his left. 8040 4480x

        22:20 And the LORD 3068 said, 559 8799z Who 4310x shall persuade 6601 8762z 853x Ahab, 256 that he may go up 5927 8799z and fall 5307 8799z at Ramothgilead? 7433 1568y And one 2088x said 559 8799z on this manner, 3541 and another 2088x said 559 8802z on that manner. 3541

        22:21 And there came forth 3318 8799z a spirit, 7307 and stood 5975 8799z before 6440 the LORD, 3068 and said, 559 8799z I 589x will persuade 6601 8762z him.

        22:22 And the LORD 3068 said 559 8799z unto 413x him, Wherewith? 4100x And he said, 559 8799z I will go forth, 3318 8799z and I will be 1961x a lying 8267 spirit 7307 in the mouth 6310 of all 3605x his prophets. 5030 And he said, 559 8799z Thou shalt persuade 6601 8762z [him], and prevail 3201 8799z also: 1571x go forth, 3318 8798z and do 6213 8798z so. 3651x

        22:23 Now 6258x therefore, behold, 2009x the LORD 3068 hath put 5414 8804z a lying 8267 spirit 7307 in the mouth 6310 of all 3605x these 428x thy prophets, 5030 and the LORD 3068 hath spoken 1696 8765z evil 7451 concerning 5921x thee.

        22:24 But Zedekiah 6667 the son 1121 of Chenaanah 3668 went near, 5066 8799z and smote 5221 8686z 853x Micaiah 4321 on 5921x the cheek, 3895 and said, 559 8799z Which 335x way 335y 2088x went 5674 8804z the Spirit 7307 of the LORD 3068 from 4480x 854x me to speak 1696 8763z unto 854x thee?

        22:25 And Micaiah 4321 said, 559 8799z Behold, 2009x thou shalt see 7200 8802z in that 1931x day, 3117 when 834x thou shalt go 935y 8799z into 935x an inner 2315 chamber 2315 to hide 2247y 8736z thyself. 2247x

        22:26 And the king 4428 of Israel 3478 said, 559 8799z Take 3947 8798z 853x Micaiah, 4321 and carry him back 7725 8685z unto 413x Amon 526 the governor 8269 of the city, 5892 and to 413x Joash 3101 the king's 4428 son; 1121

        22:27 And say, 559 8804z Thus 3541x saith 559 8804z the king, 4428 Put 7760 8798z 853x this 2088x [fellow] in the prison, 1004 3608 and feed 398 8685z him with bread 3899 of affliction 3906 and with water 4325 of affliction, 3906 until 5704x I come 935 8800z in peace. 7965

        22:28 And Micaiah 4321 said, 559 8799z If 518x thou return 7725y 8799z at all 7725 8800z in peace, 7965 the LORD 3068 hath not 3808x spoken 1696 8765z by me. And he said, 559 8799z Hearken, 8085 8798z O people, 5971 every 3605x one of you.

        22:29 So the king 4428 of Israel 3478 and Jehoshaphat 3092 the king 4428 of Judah 3063 went up 5927 8799z to Ramothgilead. 7433 1568y

        22:30 And the king 4428 of Israel 3478 said 559 8799z unto 413x Jehoshaphat, 3092 I will disguise 2664y 8692z myself, 2664x and enter 935 8800z into the battle; 4421 but put 3847x thou 859x on 3847y 8798z thy robes. 899 And the king 4428 of Israel 3478 disguised 2664y 8691z himself, 2664x and went 935 8799z into the battle. 4421

        22:31 But the king 4428 of Syria 758 commanded 6680 8765z 853x his 834x thirty 7970 and two 8147 captains 8269y that had rule over 8269x his 834x chariots, 7393 saying, 559 8800z Fight 3898 8735z neither 3808x with 854x small 6996 nor great, 1419 save 3588x 518x only 905x with 854x the king 4428 of Israel. 3478

        22:32 And it came to pass, 1961x when the captains 8269 of the chariots 7393 saw 7200 8800z 853x Jehoshaphat, 3092 that they 1992x said, 559 8804z Surely 389x it 1931x [is] the king 4428 of Israel. 3478 And they turned aside 5493 8799z to fight 3898 8736z against 5921x him: and Jehoshaphat 3092 cried out. 2199 8799z

        22:33 And it came to pass, 1961x when the captains 8269 of the chariots 7393 perceived 7200 8800z that 3588x it 1931x [was] not 3808x the king 4428 of Israel, 3478 that they turned back 7725 8799z from pursuing 310 4480x him.

        22:34 And a [certain] man 376 drew 4900 8804z a bow 7198 at a venture, 8537 and smote 5221 8686z 853x the king 4428 of Israel 3478 between 996x the joints 1694 of the harness: 8302 wherefore he said 559 8799z unto the driver of his chariot, 7395 Turn 2015 8798z thine hand, 3027 and carry me out 3318 8685z of 4480x the host; 4264 for 3588x I am wounded. 2470 8717z

        22:35 And the battle 4421 increased 5927 8799z that 1931x day: 3117 and the king 4428 was 1961x stayed up 5975 8716z in his chariot 4818 against 5227 the Syrians, 758 and died 4191 8799z at even: 6153 and the blood 1818 ran out 3332 8799z of the wound 4347 into 413x the midst 2436 of the chariot. 7393
