Chapter 5

1  Hiram, sending to congratulate Solomon, is certified of his purpose to build the Temple, and desired to furnish him with timber thereto.  7  Hiram, blessing God for Solomon, and requesting food for his family, furnisheth him with trees.  13  The number of Solomon's workmen and labourers.

        5:1 ¶ And Hiram 2438 king 4428 of Tyre 6865 sent 7971 8799z 853x his servants 5650 unto 413x Solomon; 8010 for 3588x he had heard 8085 8804z that 3588x they had anointed 4886 8804z him king 4428 in the room 8478x of his father: 1 for 3588x Hiram 2438 was 1961x ever 3117 3605x a lover 157 8802z of David. 1732

        5:2 And Solomon 8010 sent 7971 8799z to 413x Hiram, 2438 saying, 559 8800z

        5:3 Thou 859x knowest 3045 8804z how that 3588x 853x David 1732 my father 1 could 3201 8804z not 3808x build 1129 8800z an house 1004 unto the name 8034 of the LORD 3068 his God 430 for 6440 4480x the wars 4421 which 834x were about him on every side, 5437 8804z until 5704x the LORD 3068 put 5414 8800z them under 8478x the soles 3709 of his feet. 7272

        5:4 But now 6258x the LORD 3068 my God 430 hath given me rest 5117 8689z on every side, 5439 4480x [so that there is] neither 369x adversary 7854 nor 369x evil 7451 occurrent. 6294

        5:5 And, behold, 2009x I purpose 559 8802z to build 1129 8800z an house 1004 unto the name 8034 of the LORD 3068 my God, 430 as 834x the LORD 3068 spake 1696 8765z unto 413x David 1732 my father, 1 saying, 559 8800z Thy son, 1121 whom 834x I will set 5414 8799z upon 5921x thy throne 3678 in thy room, 8478x he 1931x shall build 1129 8799z an house 1004 unto my name. 8034

        5:6 Now 6258x therefore command 6680 8761z thou that they hew 3772 8799z me cedar trees 730 out of 4480x Lebanon; 3844 and my servants 5650 shall be 1961x with 5973x thy servants: 5650 and unto thee will I give 5414 8799z hire 7939 for thy servants 5650 according to all 3605x that 834x thou shalt appoint: 559 8799z for 3588x thou 859x knowest 3045 8804z that 3588x [there is] not 369x among us any 376 that can skill 3045 8802z to hew 3772 8800z timber 6086 like unto the Sidonians. 6722

        5:7 ¶ And it came to pass, 1961x when Hiram 2438 heard 8085 8800z 853x the words 1697 of Solomon, 8010 that he rejoiced 8055 8799z greatly, 3966 and said, 559 8799z Blessed 1288 8803z [be] the LORD 3068 this day, 3117 which 834x hath given 5414 8804z unto David 1732 a wise 2450 son 1121 over 5921x this 2088x great 7227 people. 5971

        5:8 And Hiram 2438 sent 7971 8799z to 413x Solomon, 8010 saying, 559 8800z I have considered 8085 8804z 853x the things which 834x thou sentest 7971 8804z to 413x me for: [and] I 589x will do 6213 8799z 853x all 3605x thy desire 2656 concerning timber 6086 of cedar, 730 and concerning timber 6086 of fir. 1265

        5:9 My servants 5650 shall bring [them] down 3381 8686z from 4480x Lebanon 3844 unto the sea: 3220 and I 589x will convey 7760 8799z them by sea 3220 in floats 1702 unto 5704x the place 4725 that 834x thou shalt appoint 7971 8799z 413x me, and will cause them to be discharged 5310 8765z there, 8033x and thou 859x shalt receive 5375 8799z [them]: and thou 859x shalt accomplish 6213 8799z 853x my desire, 2656 in giving 5414 8800z food 3899 for my household. 1004

        5:10 So Hiram 2438 gave 5414 8802z Solomon 8010 cedar 730 trees 6086 and fir 1265 trees 6086 [according to] all 3605x his desire. 2656

        5:11 And Solomon 8010 gave 5414 8804z Hiram 2438 twenty 6242 thousand 505 measures 3734 of wheat 2406 [for] food 4361 to his household, 1004 and twenty 6242 measures 3734 of pure 3795 oil: 8081 thus 3541x gave 5414 8799z Solomon 8010 to Hiram 2438 year 8141 by year. 8141

        5:12 And the LORD 3068 gave 5414 8804z Solomon 8010 wisdom, 2451 as 834x he promised 1696 8765z him: and there was 1961x peace 7965 between 996x Hiram 2438 and Solomon; 8010 and they two 8147 0z made 3772y 8799z a league 1285y together. 8147y 3772x 1285x

        5:13 ¶ And king 4428 Solomon 8010 raised 5927 8686z a levy 4522 out of all 4480x 3605x Israel; 3478 and the levy 4522 was 1961x thirty 7970 thousand 505 men. 376

        5:14 And he sent 7971 8799z them to Lebanon, 3844 ten 6235 thousand 505 a month 2320 by courses: 2487 a month 2320 they were 1961x in Lebanon, 3844 [and] two 8147 months 2320 at home: 1004 and Adoniram 141 [was] over 5921x the levy. 4522

        5:15 And Solomon 8010 had 1961x threescore and ten 7657 thousand 505 that bare 5375 8802z burdens, 5449 and fourscore 8084 thousand 505 hewers 2672 8802z in the mountains; 2022

        5:16 Beside the chief 8269 905x 4480x of Solomon's 8010 officers 5324 8737z which 834x [were] over 5921x the work, 4399 three 7969 thousand 505 and three 7969 hundred, 3967 which ruled 7287 8802z over the people 5971 that wrought 6213 8802z in the work. 4399

        5:17 And the king 4428 commanded, 6680 8762z and they brought 5265 8686z great 1419 stones, 68 costly 3368 stones, 68 [and] hewed 1496 stones, 68 to lay the foundation 3245 8763z of the house. 1004

        5:18 And Solomon's 8010 builders 1129 8802z and Hiram's 2438 builders 1129 8802z did hew 6458 8799z [them], and the stonesquarers: 1382 so they prepared 3559 8686z timber 6086 and stones 68 to build 1129 8800z the house. 1004
