Chapter 18

1  Jehoshaphat, joined in affinity with Ahab, is persuaded to go with him against Ramoth-gilead.  4  Ahab, seduced by flase prophets, according to the word of Micaiah, is slain there.

        18:1 ¶ Now Jehoshaphat 3092 had 1961x riches 6239 and honour 3519 in abundance, 7230 and joined affinity 2859 8691z with Ahab. 256

        18:2 And after 7093 [certain] years 8141 he went down 3381 8799z to 413x Ahab 256 to Samaria. 8111 And Ahab 256 killed 2076 8799z sheep 6629 and oxen 1241 for him in abundance, 7230 and for the people 5971 that 834x [he had] with 5973x him, and persuaded 5496 8686z him to go up 5927 8800z [with him] to 413x Ramothgilead. 7433 1568y

        18:3 And Ahab 256 king 4428 of Israel 3478 said 559 8799z unto 413x Jehoshaphat 3092 king 4428 of Judah, 3063 Wilt thou go 3212y 8799z 1980x with 5973x me to Ramothgilead? 7433 1568y And he answered 559 8799z him, I 3644x [am] as thou 3644x [art], and my people 5971 as thy people; 5971 and [we will be] with 5973x thee in the war. 4421

        18:4 ¶ And Jehoshaphat 3092 said 559 8799z unto 413x the king 4428 of Israel, 3478 Enquire, 1875 8798z I pray thee, 4994x at 853x the word 1697 of the LORD 3068 to day. 3117

        18:5 Therefore the king 4428 of Israel 3478 gathered together 6908 8799z 853x of prophets 5030 four 702 hundred 3967 men, 376 and said 559 8799z unto 413x them, Shall we go 3212y 8799z 1980x to 413x Ramothgilead 7433 1568y to battle, 4421 or 518x shall I forbear? 2308 8799z And they said, 559 8799z Go up; 5927 8798z for God 430 will deliver 5414 8799z [it] into the king's 4428 hand. 3027

        18:6 But Jehoshaphat 3092 said, 559 8799z [Is there] not 369x here 6311x a prophet 5030 of the LORD 3068 besides, 5750x that we might enquire 1875 8799z of him? 4480x 854x

        18:7 And the king 4428 of Israel 3478 said 559 8799z unto 413x Jehoshaphat, 3092 [There is] yet 5750x one 259 man, 376 by whom 4480x 854x we may enquire 1875 8800z of 853x the LORD: 3068 but I 589x hate 8130 8804z him; for 3588x he never 369x prophesied 5012 8693z good 2896 unto 5921x me, but 3588x always 3117 3605x evil: 7451 the same 1931x [is] Micaiah 4321 the son 1121 of Imla. 3229 And Jehoshaphat 3092 said, 559 8799z Let not 408x the king 4428 say 559 8799z so. 3651x

        18:8 And the king 4428 of Israel 3478 called 7121 8799z for 413x one 259 [of his] officers, 5631 and said, 559 8799z Fetch quickly 4116 8761z Micaiah 4319 the son 1121 of Imla. 3229

        18:9 And the king 4428 of Israel 3478 and Jehoshaphat 3092 king 4428 of Judah 3063 sat 3427 8802z either 376 of them on 5921x his throne, 3678 clothed 3847 8794z in [their] robes, 899 and they sat 3427 8802z in a void place 1637 at the entering in 6607 of the gate 8179 of Samaria; 8111 and all 3605x the prophets 5030 prophesied 5012 8693z before 6440 them.

        18:10 And Zedekiah 6667 the son 1121 of Chenaanah 3668 had made 6213 8799z him horns 7161 of iron, 1270 and said, 559 8799z Thus 3541x saith 559 8804z the LORD, 3068 With these 428x thou shalt push 5055 8762z 853x Syria 758 until 5704x they be consumed. 3615 8763z

        18:11 And all 3605x the prophets 5030 prophesied 5012 8737z so, 3651x saying, 559 8800z Go up 5927 8798z to Ramothgilead, 7433 1568y and prosper: 6743 8685z for the LORD 3068 shall deliver 5414 8804z [it] into the hand 3027 of the king. 4428

        18:12 And the messenger 4397 that 834x went 1980 8804z to call 7121 8800z Micaiah 4321 spake 1696 8765z to 413x him, saying, 559 8800z Behold, 2009x the words 1697 of the prophets 5030 [declare] good 2896 to 413x the king 4428 with one 259 assent; 6310 let thy word 1697 therefore, I pray thee, 4994x be 1961x like one 259 of 4480x theirs, and speak 1696 8765z thou good. 2896

        18:13 And Micaiah 4321 said, 559 8799z [As] the LORD 3068 liveth, 2416 even 3588x 853x what 834x my God 430 saith, 559 8799z that will I speak. 1696 8762z

        18:14 And when he was come 935 8799z to 413x the king, 4428 the king 4428 said 559 8799z unto 413x him, Micaiah, 4318 shall we go 3212y 8799z 1980x to 413x Ramothgilead 7433 1568y to battle, 4421 or 518x shall I forbear? 2308 8799z And he said, 559 8799z Go ye up, 5927 8798z and prosper, 6743 8685z and they shall be delivered 5414 8735z into your hand. 3027

        18:15 And the king 4428 said 559 8799z to 413x him, How many 5704x 4100x times 6471 shall I 589x adjure 7650 8688z thee that 834x thou say 1696 8762z nothing 3808x but 7535x the truth 571 to 413x me in the name 8034 of the LORD? 3068

        18:16 Then he said, 559 8799z I did see 7200 8804z 853x all 3605x Israel 3478 scattered 6327 8737z upon 5921x the mountains, 2022 as sheep 6629 that 834x have no 369x shepherd: 7462 8802z and the LORD 3068 said, 559 8799z These 428x have no 3808x master; 113 let them return 7725 8799z [therefore] every man 376 to his house 1004 in peace. 7965

        18:17 And the king 4428 of Israel 3478 said 559 8799z to 413x Jehoshaphat, 3092 Did I not 3808x tell 559 8804z 413x thee [that] he would not 3808x prophesy 5012 8691z good 2896 unto 5921x me, but 3588x 518x evil? 7451

        18:18 Again he said, 559 8799z Therefore 3651x hear 8085 8798z the word 1697 of the LORD; 3068 I saw 7200 8804z 853x the LORD 3068 sitting 3427 8802z upon 5921x his throne, 3678 and all 3605x the host 6635 of heaven 8064 standing 5975 8802z on 5921x his right hand 3225 and [on] his left. 8040

        18:19 And the LORD 3068 said, 559 8799z Who 4310x shall entice 6601 8762z 853x Ahab 256 king 4428 of Israel, 3478 that he may go up 5927 8799z and fall 5307 8799z at Ramothgilead? 7433 1568y And one 2088x spake 559 8799z saying 559 8802z after this manner, 3602 and another 2088x saying 559 8802z after that manner. 3602

        18:20 Then there came out 3318 8799z a spirit, 7307 and stood 5975 8799z before 6440 the LORD, 3068 and said, 559 8799z I 589x will entice 6601 8762z him. And the LORD 3068 said 559 8799z unto 413x him, Wherewith? 4100x

        18:21 And he said, 559 8799z I will go out, 3318 8799z and be 1961x a lying 8267 spirit 7307 in the mouth 6310 of all 3605x his prophets. 5030 And [the LORD] said, 559 8799z Thou shalt entice 6601 8762z [him], and thou shalt also 1571x prevail: 3201 8799z go out, 3318 8798z and do 6213 8798z [even] so. 3651x

        18:22 Now 6258x therefore, behold, 2009x the LORD 3068 hath put 5414 8804z a lying 8267 spirit 7307 in the mouth 6310 of these 428x thy prophets, 5030 and the LORD 3068 hath spoken 1696 8765z evil 7451 against 5921x thee.

        18:23 Then Zedekiah 6667 the son 1121 of Chenaanah 3668 came near, 5066 8799z and smote 5221 8686z 853x Micaiah 4321 upon 5921x the cheek, 3895 and said, 559 8799z Which 335 2088x way 1870 went 5674 8804z the Spirit 7307 of the LORD 3068 from 4480x 854x me to speak 1696 8763z unto 854x thee?

        18:24 And Micaiah 4321 said, 559 8799z Behold, 2009x thou shalt see 7200 8802z on that 1931x day 3117 when 834x thou shalt go 935 8799z into an inner 2315y chamber 2315 to hide 2244y 8736z thyself. 2244x

        18:25 Then the king 4428 of Israel 3478 said, 559 8799z Take 3947 8798z ye 853x Micaiah, 4321 and carry him back 7725 8685z to 413x Amon 526 the governor 8269 of the city, 5892 and to 413x Joash 3101 the king's 4428 son; 1121

        18:26 And say, 559 8804z Thus 3541x saith 559 8804z the king, 4428 Put 7760 8798z this 2088x [fellow] in the prison, 1004 3608 and feed 398 8685z him with bread 3899 of affliction 3906 and with water 4325 of affliction, 3906 until 5704x I return 7725 8800z in peace. 7965

        18:27 And Micaiah 4321 said, 559 8799z If 518x thou certainly 7725y 8800z return 7725 8799z in peace, 7965 [then] hath not 3808x the LORD 3068 spoken 1696 8765z by me. And he said, 559 8799z Hearken, 8085 8798z all 3605x ye people. 5971

        18:28 So the king 4428 of Israel 3478 and Jehoshaphat 3092 the king 4428 of Judah 3063 went up 5927 8799z to 413x Ramothgilead. 7433 1568y

        18:29 And the king 4428 of Israel 3478 said 559 8799z unto 413x Jehoshaphat, 3092 I will disguise 2664y 8692z myself, 2664x and will go 935 8800z to the battle; 4421 but put 3847y 8798z thou on 859x 3847x thy robes. 899 So the king 4428 of Israel 3478 disguised 2664y 8691z himself; 2664x and they went 935 8799z to the battle. 4421

        18:30 Now the king 4428 of Syria 758 had commanded 6680 8765z 853x the captains 8269 of the chariots 7393 that 834x [were] with him, saying, 559 8800z Fight 3898 8735z ye not 3808x with 854x small 6996 or 854x great, 1419 save 3588x 518x only 905x with 854x the king 4428 of Israel. 3478

        18:31 And it came to pass, 1961x when the captains 8269 of the chariots 7393 saw 7200 8800z 853x Jehoshaphat, 3092 that they 1992x said, 559 8804z It 1931x [is] the king 4428 of Israel. 3478 Therefore they compassed 5437x about 5437y 8799z 5921x him to fight: 3898 8736z but Jehoshaphat 3092 cried out, 2199 8799z and the LORD 3068 helped 5826 8804z him; and God 430 moved 5496 8686z them [to depart] from 4480x him.

        18:32 For it came to pass, 1961x that, when the captains 8269 of the chariots 7393 perceived 7200 8800z that 3588x it was 1961x not 3808x the king 4428 of Israel, 3478 they turned back again 7725 8799z from pursuing 310 4480x him.

        18:33 And a [certain] man 376x drew 4900 8804z a bow 7198 at a venture, 8537 and smote 5221 8686z 853x the king 4428 of Israel 3478 between 996x the joints 1694 of the harness: 8302 therefore he said 559 8799z to his chariot 7395y man, 376y 7395x Turn 2015 8798z thine hand, 3027 that thou mayest carry me out 3318 8689z of 4480x the host; 4264 for 3588x I am wounded. 2470 8717z

        18:34 And the battle 4421 increased 5927 8799z that 1931x day: 3117 howbeit the king 4428 of Israel 3478 stayed [himself] up 5975 8689z 1961x in [his] chariot 4818 against 5227 the Syrians 758 until 5704x the even: 6153 and about the time 6256 of the sun 8121 going down 935 8800z he died. 4191 8799z
