Chapter 6

1  David fetcheth the Ark from Kirjath-jearim on a new cart.  6  Uzzah is smitten at Perez-uzzah.  11  God blesseth Obed-edom for the Ark.  12  David bringeth the Ark into Zion with sacrifices, danceth before it, for which Michal despiseth him.  17  He placeth it in a tabernacle with great joy and feasting.  20  Michal reproving David for his religious joy is childless to her death.

        6:1 ¶ Again, 5750x David 1732 gathered together 622 8799z 8676z 3254y 8686z 853x all 3605x [the] chosen 977 8803z [men] of Israel, 3478 thirty 7970 thousand. 505

        6:2 And David 1732 arose, 6965 8799z and went 3212y 8799z 1980x with all 3605x the people 5971 that 834x [were] with 854x him from Baale 4480x 1184x of Judah, 1184y 3063x to bring up 5927 8687z from thence 4480x 8033x 853x the ark 727 of God, 430 whose 834x name 8034 is called 7121 8738z by the name 8034 of the LORD 3068 of hosts 6635 that dwelleth 3427 8802z 5921x [between] the cherubims. 3742

        6:3 And they set 7392 8686z 853x the ark 727 of God 430 upon 413x a new 2319 cart, 5699 and brought 5375 8799z it out of the house 1004 4480x of Abinadab 41 that 834x [was] in Gibeah: 1390 and Uzzah 5798 and Ahio, 283 the sons 1121 of Abinadab, 41 drave 5090 8802z 853x the new 2319 cart. 5699

        6:4 And they brought 5375 8799z it out of the house 1004 4480x of Abinadab 41 which 834x [was] at Gibeah, 1390 accompanying 5973 the ark 727 of God: 430 and Ahio 283 went 1980 8802z before 6440 the ark. 727

        6:5 And David 1732 and all 3605x the house 1004 of Israel 3478 played 7832 8764z before 6440 the LORD 3068 on all 3605x manner of [instruments made of] fir 1265 wood, 6086 even on harps, 3658 and on psalteries, 5035 and on timbrels, 8596 and on cornets, 4517 and on cymbals. 6767

        6:6 ¶ And when they came 935 8799z to 5704x Nachon's 5225 threshingfloor, 1637 Uzzah 5798 put forth 7971 8799z [his hand] to 413x the ark 727 of God, 430 and took hold 270 8799z of it; for 3588x the oxen 1241 shook 8058 8804z [it].

        6:7 And the anger 639 of the LORD 3068 was kindled 2734 8799z against Uzzah; 5798 and God 430 smote 5221 8686z him there 8033x for 5921x [his] error; 7944 and there 8033x he died 4191 8799z by 5973x the ark 727 of God. 430

        6:8 And David 1732 was displeased, 2734 8799z because 5921x 834x the LORD 3068 had made 6555 8804z a breach 6556 upon Uzzah: 5798 and he called 7121y 8799z the name 7121x of the 1931x place 4725 Perezuzzah 6560 to 5704x this 2088x day. 3117

        6:9 And David 1732 was afraid 3372 8799z of 853x the LORD 3068 that 1931x day, 3117 and said, 559 8799z How 349x shall the ark 727 of the LORD 3068 come 935 8799z to 413x me?

        6:10 So David 1732 would 14 8804z not 3808x remove 5493 8687z 853x the ark 727 of the LORD 3068 unto 413x him into 5921x the city 5892 of David: 1732 but David 1732 carried it aside 5186 8686z into the house 1004 of Obededom 5654 the Gittite. 1663

        6:11 And the ark 727 of the LORD 3068 continued 3427 8799z in the house 1004 of Obededom 5654 the Gittite 1663 three 7969 months: 2320 and the LORD 3068 blessed 1288 8762z 853x Obededom, 5654 and all 3605x his household. 1004

        6:12 ¶ And it was told 5046 8714z king 4428 David, 1732 saying, 559 8800z The LORD 3068 hath blessed 1288 8765z 853x the house 1004 of Obededom, 5654 and all 3605x that 834x [pertaineth] unto him, because 5668x of the ark 727 of God. 430 So David 1732 went 3212y 8799z 1980x and brought up 5927 8686z 853x the ark 727 of God 430 from the house 1004 4480x of Obededom 5654 into the city 5892 of David 1732 with gladness. 8057

        6:13 And it was 1961x [so], that when 3588x they that bare 5375 8802z the ark 727 of the LORD 3068 had gone 6805 8804z six 8337 paces, 6806 he sacrificed 2076 8799z oxen 7794 and fatlings. 4806

        6:14 And David 1732 danced 3769 8772z before 6440 the LORD 3068 with all 3605x [his] might; 5797 and David 1732 [was] girded 2296 8803z with a linen 906 ephod. 646

        6:15 So David 1732 and all 3605x the house 1004 of Israel 3478 brought up 5927 8688z 853x the ark 727 of the LORD 3068 with shouting, 8643 and with the sound 6963 of the trumpet. 7782

        6:16 And as 1961x the ark 727 of the LORD 3068 came 935 8802z into the city 5892 of David, 1732 Michal 4324 Saul's 7586 daughter 1323 looked 8259 8738z through 1157x a window, 2474 and saw 7200 8799z 853x king 4428 David 1732 leaping 6339 8764z and dancing 3769 8772z before 6440 the LORD; 3068 and she despised 959 8799z him in her heart. 3820

        6:17 ¶ And they brought 935y 8686z in 935x 853x the ark 727 of the LORD, 3068 and set 3322 8686z it in his place, 4725 in the midst 8432 of the tabernacle 168 that 834x David 1732 had pitched 5186 8804z for it: and David 1732 offered 5927 8686z burnt offerings 5930 and peace offerings 8002 before 6440 the LORD. 3068

        6:18 And as soon as David 1732 had made an end 3615 8762z of offering 5927 8687z 4480x burnt offerings 5930 and peace offerings, 8002 he blessed 1288 8762z 853x the people 5971 in the name 8034 of the LORD 3068 of hosts. 6635

        6:19 And he dealt 2505 8762z among all 3605x the people, 5971 [even] among the whole 3605x multitude 1995 of Israel, 3478 as well to 5704x the women 802 as men, 376 4480x to every one 376 a 259 cake 2471 of bread, 3899 and a 259x good piece 829 [of flesh], and a 259x flagon 809 [of wine]. So all 3605x the people 5971 departed 3212y 8799z 1980x every one 376 to his house. 1004

        6:20 ¶ Then David 1732 returned 7725 8799z to bless 1288 8763z 853x his household. 1004 And Michal 4324 the daughter 1323 of Saul 7586 came out 3318 8799z to meet 7125 8800z David, 1732 and said, 559 8799z How 4100x glorious 3513 8738z was the king 4428 of Israel 3478 to day, 3117 who 834x uncovered 1540y 8738z himself 1540x to day 3117 in the eyes 5869 of the handmaids 519 of his servants, 5650 as one 259 of the vain fellows 7386 shamelessly 1540y 8736z uncovereth 1540y 8736z himself! 1540

        6:21 And David 1732 said 559 8799z unto 413x Michal, 4324 [It was] before 6440 the LORD, 3068 which 834x chose 977 8804z me before thy father, 1 4480x and before all 4480x 3605x his house, 1004 to appoint 6680 8763z me ruler 5057 over 5921x the people 5971 of the LORD, 3068 over 5921x Israel: 3478 therefore will I play 7832 8765z before 6440 the LORD. 3068

        6:22 And I will yet 5750x be more vile 7043 8738z than thus, 2063 4480x and will be 1961x base 8217 in mine own sight: 5869 and of 5973x the maidservants 519 which 834x thou hast spoken 559 8804z of, of them shall I be had in honour. 3513 8735z

        6:23 Therefore Michal 4324 the daughter 1323 of Saul 7586 had 1961x no 3808x child 3206 2056y 8675z unto 5704x the day 3117 of her death. 4194
