Chapter 9

1  Daniel, considering the time of the captivity,  3  maketh confession of sins,  16  and prayeth for the restoration of Jerusalem.  20  Gabriel informeth him of the seventy weeks.

        9:1 ¶ In the first 259 year 8141 of Darius 1867 the son 1121 of Ahasuerus, 325 of the seed 2233 4480x of the Medes, 4074 which 834x was made king 4427 8717z over 5921x the realm 4438 of the Chaldeans; 3778

        9:2 In the first 259 year 8141 of his reign 4427 8800z I 589x Daniel 1840 understood 995 8804z by books 5612 the number 4557 of the years, 8141 whereof 834x the word 1697 of the LORD 3068 came 1961x to 413x Jeremiah 3414 the prophet, 5030 that he would accomplish 4390 8763z seventy 7657 years 8141 in the desolations 2723 of Jerusalem. 3389

        9:3 ¶ And I set 5414 8799z 853x my face 6440 unto 413x the Lord 136 God, 430 to seek 1245 8763z by prayer 8605 and supplications, 8469 with fasting, 6685 and sackcloth, 8242 and ashes: 665

        9:4 And I prayed 6419 8691z unto the LORD 3068 my God, 430 and made my confession, 3034 8691z and said, 559 8799z O 577 Lord, 136 the great 1419 and dreadful 3372 8737z God, 410 keeping 8104 8802z the covenant 1285 and mercy 2617 to them that love 157 8802z him, and to them that keep 8104 8802z his commandments; 4687

        9:5 We have sinned, 2398 8804z and have committed iniquity, 5753 8804z and have done wickedly, 7561 8689z and have rebelled, 4775 8804z even by departing 5493 8800z from thy precepts 4687 4480x and from thy judgments: 4941 4480x

        9:6 Neither 3808x have we hearkened 8085 8804z unto 413x thy servants 5650 the prophets, 5030 which 834x spake 1696 8765z in thy name 8034 to 413x our kings, 4428 our princes, 8269 and our fathers, 1 and to 413x all 3605x the people 5971 of the land. 776

        9:7 O Lord, 136 righteousness 6666 [belongeth] unto thee, but unto us confusion 1322 of faces, 6440 as at this 2088x day; 3117 to the men 376 of Judah, 3063 and to the inhabitants 3427 8802z of Jerusalem, 3389 and unto all 3605x Israel, 3478 [that are] near, 7138 and [that are] far off, 7350 through all 3605x the countries 776 whither 834x 8033x thou hast driven 5080 8689z them, because of their trespass 4604 that 834x they have trespassed 4603 8804z against thee.

        9:8 O Lord, 136y 3068x to us [belongeth] confusion 1322 of face, 6440 to our kings, 4428 to our princes, 8269 and to our fathers, 1 because 834x we have sinned 2398 8804z against thee.

        9:9 To the Lord 136 our God 430 [belong] mercies 7356 and forgivenesses, 5547 though 3588x we have rebelled 4775 8804z against him;

        9:10 Neither 3808x have we obeyed 8085 8804z the voice 6963 of the LORD 3068 our God, 430 to walk 3212y 8800z 1980x in his laws, 8451 which 834x he set 5414 8804z before 6440 us by 3027 his servants 5650 the prophets. 5030

        9:11 Yea, all 3605x Israel 3478 have transgressed 5674 8804z 853x thy law, 8451 even by departing, 5493 8800z that they might not 1115x obey 8085 8800z thy voice; 6963 therefore the curse 423 is poured 5413 8799z upon 5921x us, and the oath 7621 that 834x [is] written 3789 8803z in the law 8451 of Moses 4872 the servant 5650 of God, 430 because 3588x we have sinned 2398 8804z against him.

        9:12 And he hath confirmed 6965 8686z 853x his words, 1697 which 834x he spake 1696 8765z against 5921x us, and against 5921x our judges 8199 8802z that 834x judged 8199 8804z us, by bringing 935 8687z upon 5921x us a great 1419 evil: 7451 for 834x under 8478x the whole 3605x heaven 8064 hath not 3808x been done 6213 8738z as 834x hath been done 6213 8738z upon Jerusalem. 3389

        9:13 As 834x [it is] written 3789 8803z in the law 8451 of Moses, 4872 853x all 3605x this 2063x evil 7451 is come 935 8804z upon 5921x us: yet made we not our prayer 2470 8765z 3808x 853x before 6440 the LORD 3068 our God, 430 that we might turn 7725 8800z from our iniquities, 5771 4480x and understand 7919 8687z thy truth. 571

        9:14 Therefore hath the LORD 3068 watched 8245 8799z upon 5921x the evil, 7451 and brought 935 8686z it upon 5921x us: for 3588x the LORD 3068 our God 430 [is] righteous 6662 in 5921x all 3605x his works 4639 which 834x he doeth: 6213 8804z for we obeyed 8085 8804z not 3808x his voice. 6963

        9:15 And now, 6258x O Lord 136 our God, 430 that 834x hast brought 3318y 0z thy people 5971y forth 3318 8689z 853x 5971x out of the land 776 4480x of Egypt 4714 with a mighty 2389 hand, 3027 and hast gotten 6213 8799z thee renown, 8034 as at this 2088x day; 3117 we have sinned, 2398 8804z we have done wickedly. 7561 8804z

        9:16 ¶ O Lord, 136 according to all 3605x thy righteousness, 6666 I beseech thee, 4994x let thine anger 639 and thy fury 2534 be turned away 7725 8799z from thy city 5892 4480x Jerusalem, 3389 thy holy 6944 mountain: 2022 because 3588x for our sins, 2399 and for the iniquities 5771 of our fathers, 1 Jerusalem 3389 and thy people 5971 [are become] a reproach 2781 to all 3605x [that are] about 5439 us.

        9:17 Now 6258x therefore, O our God, 430 hear 8085 8798z 413x the prayer 8605 of thy servant, 5650 and his supplications, 8469 and cause thy face 6440 to shine 215 8685z upon 5921x thy sanctuary 4720 that is desolate, 8076 for the Lord's 136y sake. 4616x 136x

        9:18 O my God, 430 incline 5186 8685z thine ear, 241 and hear; 8085 8798z open 6491 8798z thine eyes, 5869 and behold 7200 8798z our desolations, 8074 8802z and the city 5892 which 834x is called 7121 8738z by 5921x thy name: 8034 for 3588x we 587x do not 3808x present 5307 8688z our supplications 8469 before 6440 thee for 5921x our righteousnesses, 6666 but 3588x for 5921x thy great 7227 mercies. 7356

        9:19 O Lord, 136 hear; 8085 8798z O Lord, 136 forgive; 5545 8798z O Lord, 136 hearken 7181 8685z and do; 6213 8798z defer 309 8762z not, 408 for thine own sake, 4616x O my God: 430 for 3588x thy city 5892 and thy people 5971 are called 7121 8738z by thy name. 8034

        9:20 ¶ And whiles 5750x I 589x [was] speaking, 1696 8764z and praying, 6419 8693z and confessing 3034 8693z my sin 2403 and the sin 2403 of my people 5971 Israel, 3478 and presenting 5307 8688z my supplication 8467 before 6440 the LORD 3068 my God 430 for 5921x the holy 6944 mountain 2022 of my God; 430

        9:21 Yea, whiles 5750x I 589x [was] speaking 1696 8764z in prayer, 8605 even the man 376 Gabriel, 1403 whom 834x I had seen 7200 8804z in the vision 2377 at the beginning, 8462 being caused to fly 3286 8716z swiftly, 3288 touched 5060 8802z 413x me about the time 6256 of the evening 6153 oblation. 4503

        9:22 And he informed 995 8799z [me], and talked 1696 8762z with 5973x me, and said, 559 8799z O Daniel, 1840 I am now 6258x come forth 3318 8804z to give thee skill 7919 8687z and understanding. 998

        9:23 At the beginning 8462 of thy supplications 8469 the commandment 1697 came forth, 3318 8804z and I 589x am come 935 8804z to shew 5046 8687z [thee]; for 3588x thou 859x [art] greatly beloved: 2532y 2530x therefore understand 995 8798z the matter, 1697 and consider 995 8685z the vision. 4758y 2377x

        9:24 Seventy 7657 weeks 7620 are determined 2852 8738z upon 5921x thy people 5971 and upon 5921x thy holy 6944 city, 5892 to finish 3607 8763z the transgression, 6588 and to make an end 2856 8552y 8687z 8675z 8800z of sins, 2403 and to make reconciliation 3722 8763z for iniquity, 5771 and to bring in 935 8687z everlasting 5769 righteousness, 6664 and to seal up 2856 8800z the vision 2377 and prophecy, 5030 and to anoint 4886 8800z the most 6944y Holy. 6944

        9:25 Know 3045 8799z therefore and understand, 7919 8686z [that] from 4480x the going forth 4161 of the commandment 1697 to restore 7725 8687z and to build 1129 8800z Jerusalem 3389 unto 5704x the Messiah 4899 the Prince 5057 [shall be] seven 7651 weeks, 7620 and threescore 8346 and two 8147 weeks: 7620 the street 7339 shall be built 1129 8738z again, 7725 8799z and the wall, 2742 even in troublous 6695 times. 6256

        9:26 And after 310 threescore 8346 and two 8147 weeks 7620 shall Messiah 4899 be cut off, 3772 8735z but not 369x for himself: and the people 5971 of the prince 5057 that shall come 935 8802z shall destroy 7843 8686z the city 5892 and the sanctuary; 6944 and the end 7093 thereof [shall be] with a flood, 7858 and unto 5704x the end 7093 of the war 4421 desolations 8074 8802z are determined. 2782 8737z

        9:27 And he shall confirm 1396 8689z the covenant 1285 with many 7227 for one 259 week: 7620 and in the midst 2677 of the week 7620 he shall cause the sacrifice 2077 and the oblation 4503 to cease, 7673 8686z and for 5921x the overspreading 3671 of abominations 8251 he shall make [it] desolate, 8074 8789z even until 5704x the consummation, 3617 and that determined 2782 8737z shall be poured 5413 8799z upon 5921x the desolate. 8074y 8802z 8076x
