1  Of divorce.  5  A new married man goeth not to war.  6, 10  Of pledges.  7  Of manstealers.  8  Of leprosy.  14  The hire is to be given.  16  Of justice.  19  Of charity.

24:1 ¶ When (3588) a man {376} hath taken {3947} <8799> a wife, {802} and married {1166} <8804> her, and it come to pass (1961) that (518) she find {4672} <8799> no (3808) favour {2580} in his eyes, {5869} because (3588) he hath found {4672} <8804> some {1697} uncleanness {6172} in her: then let him write {3789} <8804> her a bill {5612} of divorcement, {3748} and give {5414} <8804> [it] in her hand, {3027} and send {7971} <8765> her out of his house. {1004} (4480)

24:2 And when she is departed (3318) out [3318] <8804> of his house, {1004} (4480) she may go {1980} <8804> and be (1961) another {312} man's {376} [wife].

24:3 And [if] the latter {314} husband {376} hate {8130} <8804> her, and write {3789} <8804> her a bill {5612} of divorcement, {3748} and giveth {5414} <8804> [it] in her hand, {3027} and sendeth {7971} <8765> her out of his house; {1004} (4480) or (176) if (3588) the latter {314} husband {376} die, {4191} <8799> which (834) took {3947} <8804> her [to be] his wife; {802}

24:4 Her former {7223} husband, {1167} which (834) sent her away, {7971} <8765> may {3201} <8799> not (3808) take {3947} <8800> her again {7725} <8800> to be (1961) his wife, {802} after [310] that (310) (834) she is defiled; {2930} <8719> for (3588) that (1931) [is] abomination {8441} before {6440} the LORD: {3068} and thou shalt not (3808) cause (853) the land {776} to sin, {2398} <8686> which (834) the LORD {3068} thy God {430} giveth {5414} <8802> thee [for] an inheritance. {5159}

24:5 ¶ When (3588) a man {376} hath taken {3947} <8799> a new {2319} wife, {802} he shall not (3808) go out {3318} <8799> to war, {6635} neither (3808) shall he be charged {5674} <8799> with (5921) any (3605) business: {1697} [but] he shall be (1961) free {5355} at home {1004} one {259} year, {8141} and shall cheer up {8055} <8765> (853) his wife {802} which (834) he hath taken. {3947} <8804>

24:6 ¶ No (3808) man shall take {2254} <0> the nether {7347} or the upper (7393) millstone [7393] (7347) to pledge: {2254} <8799> for (3588) he (1931) taketh {2254} <0> [a man's] life {5315} to pledge. {2254} <8802>

24:7 ¶ If (3588) a man {376} be found {4672} <8735> stealing {1589} <8802> any {5315} of his brethren {251} (4480) of the children {1121} (4480) of Israel, {3478} and maketh merchandise {6014} <8694> of him, or selleth {4376} <8804> him; then that (1931) thief {1590} shall die; {4191} <8804> and thou shalt put [1197] <0> evil [7451] away {1197} <8765> (7451) from among {7130} (4480) you.

24:8 ¶ Take heed {8104} <8734> in the plague {5061} of leprosy, {6883} that thou observe {8104} <8800> diligently, {3966} and do {6213} <8800> according to all (3605) that (834) the priests {3548} the Levites {3881} shall teach {3384} <8686> you: as (834) I commanded {6680} <8765> them, [so] ye shall observe {8104} <8799> to do. {6213} <8800>

24:9 Remember {2142} <8800> (853) what (834) the LORD {3068} thy God {430} did {6213} <8804> unto Miriam {4813} by the way, {1870} after that ye were come forth {3318} <8800> out of Egypt. {4714} (4480)

24:10 ¶ When (3588) thou dost lend {5383} <8686> thy brother {7453} any {3972} thing, {4859} thou shalt not (3808) go {935} <8799> into (413) his house {1004} to fetch {5670} <8800> his pledge. {5667}

24:11 Thou shalt stand {5975} <8799> abroad, {2351} and the man {376} to whom (834) thou (859) dost lend {5383} <8802> shall bring out {3318} <8686> (853) the pledge {5667} abroad {2351} unto (413) thee.

24:12 And if (518) the man {376} [be] poor, {6041} thou shalt not (3808) sleep {7901} <8799> with his pledge: {5667}

24:13 In any case [7725] <8687> thou shalt deliver {7725} <0> him (853) the pledge {5667} again [7725] <8686> when the sun {8121} goeth down, {935} <8800> that he may sleep {7901} <8804> in his own raiment, {8008} and bless {1288} <8765> thee: and it shall be (1961) righteousness {6666} unto thee before {6440} the LORD {3068} thy God. {430}

24:14 ¶ Thou shalt not (3808) oppress {6231} <8799> an hired servant {7916} [that is] poor {6041} and needy, {34} [whether he be] of thy brethren, {251} (4480) or (176) of thy strangers {1616} (4480) that (834) [are] in thy land {776} within thy gates: {8179}

24:15 At his day {3117} thou shalt give {5414} <8799> [him] his hire, {7939} neither (3808) shall the sun {8121} go down {935} <8799> upon (5921) it; for (3588) he (1931) [is] poor, {6041} and setteth {5375} <8802> (853) his heart {5315} upon (413) it: lest (3808) he cry {7121} <8799> against (5921) thee unto (413) the LORD, {3068} and it be (1961) sin {2399} unto thee.

24:16 The fathers {1} shall not (3808) be put to death {4191} <8714> for (5921) the children, {1121} neither (3808) shall the children {1121} be put to death {4191} <8714> for (5921) the fathers: {1} every man {376} shall be put to death {4191} <8714> for his own sin. {2399}

24:17 ¶ Thou shalt not (3808) pervert {5186} <8686> the judgment {4941} of the stranger, {1616} [nor] of the fatherless; {3490} nor (3808) take {2254} <0> a widow's {490} raiment {899} to pledge: {2254} <8799>

24:18 But thou shalt remember {2142} <8804> that (3588) thou wast (1961) a bondman {5650} in Egypt, {4714} and the LORD {3068} thy God {430} redeemed {6299} <8799> thee thence: (4480) (8033) therefore (5921) (3651) I (595) command {6680} <8764> thee to do {6213} <8800> (853) this (2088) thing. {1697}

24:19 ¶ When (3588) thou cuttest down {7114} <8799> thine harvest {7105} in thy field, {7704} and hast forgot {7911} <8804> a sheaf {6016} in the field, {7704} thou shalt not (3808) go again {7725} <8799> to fetch {3947} <8800> it: it shall be (1961) for the stranger, {1616} for the fatherless, {3490} and for the widow: {490} that (4616) the LORD {3068} thy God {430} may bless {1288} <8762> thee in all (3605) the work {4639} of thine hands. {3027}

24:20 When (3588) thou beatest {2251} <8799> thine olive tree, {2132} thou shalt not (3808) go over the boughs {6286} <8762> again: {310} it shall be (1961) for the stranger, {1616} for the fatherless, {3490} and for the widow. {490}

24:21 When (3588) thou gatherest [1219] <8799> the grapes (1219) of thy vineyard, {3754} thou shalt not (3808) glean {5953} <8779> [it] afterward: {310} it shall be (1961) for the stranger, {1616} for the fatherless, {3490} and for the widow. {490}

24:22 And thou shalt remember {2142} <8804> that (3588) thou wast (1961) a bondman {5650} in the land {776} of Egypt: {4714} therefore (5921) (3651) I (595) command {6680} <8764> thee to do {6213} <8800> (853) this (2088) thing. {1697}
