Chapter 26

1  The confession of him that offereth the basket of firstfruits.  12  The prayer of him that giveth his third year's tithes.  16  The Covenant between God and the people.

26:1 ¶ And it shall be, (1961) when (3588) thou [art] come in {935} <8799> unto (413) the land {776} which (834) the LORD {3068} thy God {430} giveth {5414} <8802> thee [for] an inheritance, {5159} and possessest {3423} <8804> it, and dwellest {3427} <8804> therein;

26:2 That thou shalt take {3947} <8804> of the first {7225} (4480) of all (3605) the fruit {6529} of the earth, {127} which (834) thou shalt bring {935} <8686> of thy land {776} (4480) that (834) the LORD {3068} thy God {430} giveth {5414} <8802> thee, and shalt put {7760} <8804> [it] in a basket, {2935} and shalt go {1980} <8804> unto (413) the place {4725} which (834) the LORD {3068} thy God {430} shall choose {977} <8799> to place {7931} <8763> his name {8034} there. (8033)

26:3 And thou shalt go {935} <8804> unto (413) the priest {3548} that (834) shall be (1961) in those (1992) days, {3117} and say {559} <8804> unto (413) him, I profess {5046} <8689> this day {3117} unto the LORD {3068} thy God, {430} that (3588) I am come {935} <8804> unto (413) the country {776} which (834) the LORD {3068} sware {7650} <8738> unto our fathers {1} for to give {5414} <8800> us.

26:4 And the priest {3548} shall take {3947} <8804> the basket {2935} out of thine hand, {3027} (4480) and set it down [3240] <8689> (5117) before {6440} the altar {4196} of the LORD {3068} thy God. {430}

26:5 And thou shalt speak {6030} <8804> and say {559} <8804> before {6440} the LORD {3068} thy God, {430} A Syrian {761} ready to perish {6} <8802> [was] my father, {1} and he went down {3381} <8799> into Egypt, {4714} and sojourned {1481} <8799> there (8033) with [4962] a few, {4592} (4692) and became (1961) there (8033) a nation, {1471} great, {1419} mighty, {6099} and populous: {7227}

26:6 And the Egyptians {4713} evil entreated {7489} <8686> us, and afflicted {6031} <8762> us, and laid {5414} <8799> upon (5921) us hard {7186} bondage: {5656}

26:7 And when we cried {6817} <8799> unto (413) the LORD {3068} God {430} of our fathers, {1} the LORD {3068} heard {8085} <8799> (853) our voice, {6963} and looked [7200] <8799> on (7200) (853) our affliction, {6040} and our labour, {5999} and our oppression: {3906}

26:8 And the LORD {3068} brought us forth {3318} <8686> out of Egypt {4714} (4480) with a mighty {2389} hand, {3027} and with an outstretched {5186} <8803> arm, {2220} and with great {1419} terribleness, {4172} and with signs, {226} and with wonders: {4159}

26:9 And he hath brought {935} <8686> us into (413) this (2088) place, {4725} and hath given {5414} <8799> us (853) this (2063) land, {776} [even] a land {776} that floweth {2100} <8802> with milk {2461} and honey. {1706}

26:10 And now, (6258) behold, (2009) I have brought {935} <8689> (853) the firstfruits {6529} {7225} of the land, {127} which (834) thou, O LORD, {3068} hast given {5414} <8804> me. And thou shalt set [3240] <8689> (5117) it before {6440} the LORD {3068} thy God, {430} and worship {7812} <8694> before {6440} the LORD {3068} thy God: {430}

26:11 And thou shalt rejoice {8055} <8804> in every (3605) good {2896} [thing] which (834) the LORD {3068} thy God {430} hath given {5414} <8804> unto thee, and unto thine house, {1004} thou, (859) and the Levite, {3881} and the stranger {1616} that (834) [is] among {7130} you.

26:12 ¶ When (3588) thou hast made an end {3615} <8762> of tithing {6237} <8687> (853) all (3605) the tithes {4643} of thine increase {8393} the third {7992} year, {8141} [which is] the year {8141} of tithing, {4643} and hast given {5414} <8804> [it] unto the Levite, {3881} the stranger, {1616} the fatherless, {3490} and the widow, {490} that they may eat {398} <8804> within thy gates, {8179} and be filled; {7646} <8804>

26:13 Then thou shalt say {559} <8804> before {6440} the LORD {3068} thy God, {430} I have brought away {1197} <8765> the hallowed things {6944} out of (4480) [mine] house, {1004} and also (1571) have given {5414} <8804> them unto the Levite, {3881} and unto the stranger, {1616} to the fatherless, {3490} and to the widow, {490} according to all (3605) thy commandments {4687} which (834) thou hast commanded {6680} <8765> me: I have not (3808) transgressed {5674} <8804> thy commandments, {4687} (4480) neither (3808) have I forgotten {7911} <8804> [them]:

26:14 I have not (3808) eaten {398} <8804> thereof (4480) in my mourning, {205} neither (3808) have I taken away {1197} <8765> [ought] thereof (4480) for [any] unclean {2931} [use], nor (3808) given {5414} <8804> [ought] thereof (4480) for the dead: {4191} <8801> [but] I have hearkened {8085} <8804> to the voice {6963} of the LORD {3068} my God, {430} [and] have done {6213} <8804> according to all (3605) that (834) thou hast commanded {6680} <8765> me.

26:15 Look down {8259} <8685> from thy holy {6944} habitation, {4583} (4480) from (4480) heaven, {8064} and bless {1288} <8761> (853) thy people {5971} (853) Israel, {3478} and the land {127} which (834) thou hast given {5414} <8804> us, as (834) thou swarest {7650} <8738> unto our fathers, {1} a land {776} that floweth {2100} <8802> with milk {2461} and honey. {1706}

26:16 ¶ This (2088) day {3117} the LORD {3068} thy God {430} hath commanded {6680} <8764> thee to do {6213} <8800> (853) these (428) statutes {2706} and judgments: {4941} thou shalt therefore keep {8104} <8804> and do {6213} <8804> them with all (3605) thine heart, {3824} and with all (3605) thy soul. {5315}

26:17 Thou hast avouched {559} <8689> (853) the LORD {3068} this day {3117} to be (1961) thy God, {430} and to walk [3212] <8800> (1980) in his ways, {1870} and to keep {8104} <8800> his statutes, {2706} and his commandments, {4687} and his judgments, {4941} and to hearken {8085} <8800> unto his voice: {6963}

26:18 And the LORD {3068} hath avouched {559} <8689> thee this day {3117} to be (1961) his peculiar {5459} people, {5971} as (834) he hath promised {1696} <8765> thee, and that [thou] shouldest keep {8104} <8800> all (3605) his commandments; {4687}

26:19 And to make {5414} <8800> thee high {5945} above (5921) all (3605) nations {1471} which (834) he hath made, {6213} <8804> in praise, {8416} and in name, {8034} and in honour; {8597} and that thou mayest be (1961) an holy {6918} people {5971} unto the LORD {3068} thy God, {430} as (834) he hath spoken. {1696} <8765>
