Chapter 11

1  God's message to the Israelites to borrow jewels of their neighbours.  4  Moses threateneth Pharaoh with the death of the firstborn.

11:1 ¶ And the LORD {3068} said {559} <8799> unto (413) Moses, {4872} Yet (5750) will I bring {935} <8686> one {259} plague {5061} [more] upon (5921) Pharaoh, {6547} and upon (5921) Egypt; {4714} afterwards {310} (3651) he will let you go {7971} <8762> hence: (4480) (2088) when he shall let [you] go, {7971} <8763> he shall surely [1644] <8763> thrust you out {1644} <8762> (853) hence (4480) (2088) altogether. {3617}

11:2 Speak {1696} <8761> now (4994) in the ears {241} of the people, {5971} and let every man {376} borrow {7592} <8799> of (4480) (854) his neighbour, {7453} and every woman {802} of (4480) (854) her neighbour, {7468} jewels {3627} of silver, {3701} and jewels {3627} of gold. {2091}

11:3 And the LORD {3068} gave {5414} <8799> the people {5971} (853) favour {2580} in the sight {5869} of the Egyptians. {4714} Moreover (1571) the man {376} Moses {4872} [was] very {3966} great {1419} in the land {776} of Egypt, {4714} in the sight {5869} of Pharaoh's {6547} servants, {5650} and in the sight {5869} of the people. {5971}

11:4 And Moses {4872} said, {559} <8799> Thus (3541) saith {559} <8804> the LORD, {3068} About midnight {3915} {2676} will I (589) go out {3318} <8802> into the midst {8432} of Egypt: {4714}

11:5 And all (3605) the firstborn {1060} in the land {776} of Egypt {4714} shall die, {4191} <8804> from the firstborn {1060} (4480) of Pharaoh {6547} that sitteth {3427} <8802> upon (5921) his throne, {3678} even unto (5704) the firstborn {1060} of the maidservant {8198} that (834) [is] behind {310} the mill; {7347} and all (3605) the firstborn {1060} of beasts. {929}

11:6 And there shall be {1961} <8738> a great {1419} cry {6818} throughout all (3605) the land {776} of Egypt, {4714} such as (834) there was (1961) none {3808} like it, (3644) nor {3808} shall be like it (3644) any more. {3254} <8686>

11:7 But against any (3605) of the children {1121} of Israel {3478} shall not (3808) a dog {3611} move {2782} <8799> his tongue, {3956} against man {376} (4480) or (5704) beast: {929} that (4616) ye may know {3045} <8799> how that (834) the LORD {3068} doth put a difference {6395} <8686> between (996) the Egyptians {4714} and Israel. {3478}

11:8 And all (3605) these (428) thy servants {5650} shall come down {3381} <8804> unto (413) me, and bow down [7812] <8694> themselves (7812) unto me, saying, {559} <8800> Get thee out, {3318} <8798> (859) and all (3605) the people {5971} that (834) follow {7272} thee: and after {310} that (3651) I will go out. {3318} <8799> And he went out {3318} <8799> from (4480) (5973) Pharaoh {6547} in a great {2750} anger. {639}

11:9 And the LORD {3068} said {559} <8799> unto (413) Moses, {4872} Pharaoh {6547} shall not (3808) hearken {8085} <8799> unto (413) you; that (4616) my wonders {4159} may be multiplied {7235} <8800> in the land {776} of Egypt. {4714}

11:10 And Moses {4872} and Aaron {175} did {6213} <8804> (853) all (3605) these (428) wonders {4159} before {6440} Pharaoh: {6547} and the LORD {3068} hardened {2388} <8762> (853) Pharaoh's {6547} heart, {3820} so that he would not (3808) let (853) the children {1121} of Israel {3478} go (7971) out [7971] <8765> of his land. {776} (4480)
