Chapter 24

1  Moses is called up into the mountain.  3  The people promise obedience.  4  Moses buildeth an altar, and twelve pillars.  6  He sprinkleth the blood of the Covenant.  9  The glory of God appeareth.  14  Aaron and Hur have the charge of the people.  15  Moses goeth into the mountain, where he continueth forty days and forty nights.

24:1 ¶ And he said {559} <8804> unto (413) Moses, {4872} Come up {5927} <8798> unto (413) the LORD, {3068} thou, (859) and Aaron, {175} Nadab, {5070} and Abihu, {30} and seventy {7657} of the elders {2205} (4480) of Israel; {3478} and worship {7812} <8694> ye afar off. {7350} (4480)

24:2 And Moses {4872} alone (905) shall come near {5066} <8738> (413) the LORD: {3068} but they (1992) shall not (3808) come nigh; {5066} <8799> neither (3808) shall the people {5971} go up {5927} <8799> with (5973) him.

24:3 ¶ And Moses {4872} came {935} <8799> and told {5608} <8762> the people {5971} (853) all (3605) the words {1697} of the LORD, {3068} and all (3605) the judgments: {4941} and all (3605) the people {5971} answered {6030} <8799> with one {259} voice, {6963} and said, {559} <8799> All (3605) the words {1697} which (834) the LORD {3068} hath said {1696} <8765> will we do. {6213} <8799>

24:4 And Moses {4872} wrote {3789} <8799> (853) all (3605) the words {1697} of the LORD, {3068} and rose up early {7925} <8686> in the morning, {1242} and builded {1129} <8799> an altar {4196} under (8478) the hill, {2022} and twelve (8147) (6240) pillars, {4676} according to the twelve {8147} {6240} tribes {7626} of Israel. {3478}

24:5 And he sent {7971} <8799> (853) young men {5288} of the children {1121} of Israel, {3478} which offered {5927} <8686> burnt offerings, {5930} and sacrificed {2076} <8799> peace {8002} offerings {2077} of oxen {6499} unto the LORD. {3068}

24:6 And Moses {4872} took {3947} <8799> half {2677} of the blood, {1818} and put {7760} <8799> [it] in basons; {101} and half {2677} of the blood {1818} he sprinkled {2236} <8804> on (5921) the altar. {4196}

24:7 And he took {3947} <8799> the book {5612} of the covenant, {1285} and read {7121} <8799> in the audience {241} of the people: {5971} and they said, {559} <8799> All (3605) that (834) the LORD {3068} hath said {1696} <8765> will we do, {6213} <8799> and be obedient. {8085} <8799>

24:8 And Moses {4872} took {3947} <8799> (853) the blood, {1818} and sprinkled {2236} <8799> [it] on (5921) the people, {5971} and said, {559} <8799> Behold (2009) the blood {1818} of the covenant, {1285} which (834) the LORD {3068} hath made {3772} <8804> with (5973) you concerning (5921) all (3605) these (428) words. {1697}

24:9 ¶ Then went up {5927} <8799> Moses, {4872} and Aaron, {175} Nadab, {5070} and Abihu, {30} and seventy {7657} of the elders {2205} (4480) of Israel: {3478}

24:10 And they saw {7200} <8799> (853) the God {430} of Israel: {3478} and [there was] under (8478) his feet {7272} as it were a paved {3840} work {4639} of a sapphire stone, {5601} and as it were the body {6106} of heaven {8064} in [his] clearness. {2892}

24:11 And upon (413) the nobles {678} of the children {1121} of Israel {3478} he laid {7971} <8804> not (3808) his hand: {3027} also they saw {2372} <8799> (853) God, {430} and did eat {398} <8799> and drink. {8354} <8799>

24:12 ¶ And the LORD {3068} said {559} <8799> unto (413) Moses, {4872} Come up {5927} <8798> to (413) me into the mount, {2022} and be (1961) there: (8033) and I will give {5414} <8799> thee (853) tables {3871} of stone, {68} and a law, {8451} and commandments {4687} which (834) I have written; {3789} <8804> that thou mayest teach {3384} <8687> them.

24:13 And Moses {4872} rose up, {6965} <8799> and his minister {8334} <8764> Joshua: {3091} and Moses {4872} went up {5927} <8799> into (413) the mount {2022} of God. {430}

24:14 And he said {559} <8804> unto (413) the elders, {2205} Tarry {3427} <8798> ye here {2088} for us, until (5704) (834) we come again {7725} <8799> unto (413) you: and, behold, (2009) Aaron {175} and Hur {2354} [are] with (5973) you: if any {4310} man {1167} <0> have any matters {1697} to do, [1167] let him come {5066} <8799> unto (413) them.

24:15 And Moses {4872} went up {5927} <8799> into (413) the mount, {2022} and a cloud {6051} covered {3680} <8762> (853) the mount. {2022}

24:16 And the glory {3519} of the LORD {3068} abode {7931} <8799> upon (5921) mount {2022} Sinai, {5514} and the cloud {6051} covered {3680} <8762> it six {8337} days: {3117} and the seventh {7637} day {3117} he called {7121} <8799> unto (413) Moses {4872} out of the midst {8432} (4480) of the cloud. {6051}

24:17 And the sight {4758} of the glory {3519} of the LORD {3068} [was] like devouring {398} <8802> fire {784} on the top {7218} of the mount {2022} in the eyes {5869} of the children {1121} of Israel. {3478}

24:18 And Moses {4872} went {935} <8799> into the midst {8432} of the cloud, {6051} and gat him up {5927} <8799> into (413) the mount: {2022} and Moses {4872} was (1961) in the mount {2022} forty {705} days {3117} and forty {705} nights. {3915}
