Chapter 9

1  The murrain of beasts.  8  The plague of boils and blains.  13  The message about the hail.  22  The plague of hail.  27  Pharaoh sueth to Moses,  35  but yet is hardened.

9:1 ¶ Then the LORD {3068} said {559} <8799> unto (413) Moses, {4872} Go [935] <8798> in (935) unto (413) Pharaoh, {6547} and tell {1696} <8765> (413) him, Thus (3541) saith {559} <8804> the LORD {3068} God {430} of the Hebrews, {5680} Let (853) my people {5971} go, {7971} <8761> that they may serve {5647} <8799> me.

9:2 For (3588) if (518) thou (859) refuse {3986} to let [them] go, {7971} <8763> and wilt hold {2388} <8688> them still, (5750)

9:3 Behold, (2009) the hand {3027} of the LORD {3068} is {1961} <8802> upon thy cattle {4735} which (834) [is] in the field, {7704} upon the horses, {5483} upon the asses, {2543} upon the camels, {1581} upon the oxen, {1241} and upon the sheep: {6629} [there shall be] a very {3966} grievous {3515} murrain. {1698}

9:4 And the LORD {3068} shall sever {6395} <8689> between (996) the cattle {4735} of Israel {3478} and the cattle {4735} of Egypt: {4714} and there shall nothing {1697} (3808) die {4191} <8799> of all (4480) (3605) [that is] the children's {1121} of Israel. {3478}

9:5 And the LORD {3068} appointed {7760} <8799> a set time, {4150} saying, {559} <8800> To morrow {4279} the LORD {3068} shall do {6213} <8799> this (2088) thing {1697} in the land. {776}

9:6 And the LORD {3068} did {6213} <8799> (853) that (2088) thing {1697} on the morrow, {4283} (4480) and all (3605) the cattle {4735} of Egypt {4714} died: {4191} <8799> but of the cattle {4735} (4480) of the children {1121} of Israel {3478} died {4191} <8804> not (3808) one. {259}

9:7 And Pharaoh {6547} sent, {7971} <8799> and, behold, (2009) there was not (3808) one {259} of the cattle {4735} (4480) of the Israelites {3478} dead. {4191} <8804> And the heart {3820} of Pharaoh {6547} was hardened, {3513} <8799> and he did not (3808) let (853) the people {5971} go. {7971} <8765>

9:8 ¶ And the LORD {3068} said {559} <8799> unto (413) Moses {4872} and unto (413) Aaron, {175} Take {3947} <8798> to you handfuls {2651} {4393} of ashes {6368} of the furnace, {3536} and let Moses {4872} sprinkle {2236} <8804> it toward the heaven {8064} in the sight {5869} of Pharaoh. {6547}

9:9 And it shall become (1961) small dust {80} in (5921) all (3605) the land {776} of Egypt, {4714} and shall be (1961) a boil {7822} breaking forth {6524} <8802> [with] blains {76} upon (5921) man, {120} and upon (5921) beast, {929} throughout all (3605) the land {776} of Egypt. {4714}

9:10 And they took {3947} <8799> (853) ashes {6368} of the furnace, {3536} and stood {5975} <8799> before {6440} Pharaoh; {6547} and Moses {4872} sprinkled {2236} <8799> it up toward heaven; {8064} and it became (1961) a boil {7822} breaking forth {6524} <8802> [with] blains {76} upon man, {120} and upon beast. {929}

9:11 And the magicians {2748} could {3201} <8804> not (3808) stand {5975} <8800> before {6440} Moses {4872} because [6440] of (4480) (6440) the boils; {7822} for (3588) the boil {7822} was (1961) upon the magicians, {2748} and upon all (3605) the Egyptians. {4714}

9:12 And the LORD {3068} hardened {2388} <8762> (853) the heart {3820} of Pharaoh, {6547} and he hearkened {8085} <8804> not (3808) unto (413) them; as (834) the LORD {3068} had spoken {1696} <8765> unto (413) Moses. {4872}

9:13 ¶ And the LORD {3068} said {559} <8799> unto (413) Moses, {4872} Rise up early {7925} <8685> in the morning, {1242} and stand {3320} <8690> before {6440} Pharaoh, {6547} and say {559} <8804> unto (413) him, Thus (3541) saith {559} <8804> the LORD {3068} God {430} of the Hebrews, {5680} Let (853) my people {5971} go, {7971} <8761> that they may serve {5647} <8799> me.

9:14 For (3588) I (589) will at this (2063) time {6471} send {7971} <8802> (853) all (3605) my plagues {4046} upon (413) thine heart, {3820} and upon thy servants, {5650} and upon thy people; {5971} that (5668) thou mayest know {3045} <8799> that (3588) [there is] none (369) like me (3644) in all (3605) the earth. {776}

9:15 For (3588) now (6258) I will stretch out {7971} <8804> (853) my hand, {3027} that I may smite {5221} <8686> thee and thy people {5971} with pestilence; {1698} and thou shalt be cut off {3582} <8735> from (4480) the earth. {776}

9:16 And in very [199] deed [5668] (199) for (5668) this (2063) [cause] have I raised thee up, {5975} <8689> for (5668) to shew {7200} <8687> [in] thee (853) my power; {3581} and that (4616) my name {8034} may be declared {5608} <8763> throughout all (3605) the earth. {776}

9:17 As yet (5750) exaltest [5549] <8706> thou thyself (5549) against my people, {5971} that thou wilt not (1115) let them go? {7971} <8763>

9:18 Behold, (2009) to morrow {4279} about this time {6256} I will cause it to rain {4305} <8688> a very {3966} grievous {3515} hail, {1259} such (834) as (3644) hath not (3808) been [3644] (1961) in Egypt {4714} since {4480} (3117) the foundation {3245} [3117] <8736> thereof even until (5704) now. (6258)

9:19 Send {7971} <8798> therefore now, (6258) [and] gather {5756} <8685> (853) thy cattle, {4735} and all (3605) that (834) thou hast in the field; {7704} [for upon] every (3605) man {120} and beast {929} which (834) shall be found {4672} <8735> in the field, {7704} and shall not (3808) be brought {622} <8735> home, {1004} the hail {1259} shall come down {3381} <8804> upon (5921) them, and they shall die. {4191} <8804>

9:20 He that feared [3373] (3372) (853) the word {1697} of the LORD {3068} among the servants {5650} (4480) of Pharaoh {6547} made (853) his servants {5650} and his cattle {4735} flee {5127} <8689> into (413) the houses: {1004}

9:21 And he that (834) regarded {7760} {3820} <8804> not (3808) the word {1697} of the LORD {3068} left {5800} <8799> (853) his servants {5650} and his cattle {4735} in the field. {7704}

9:22 ¶ And the LORD {3068} said {559} <8799> unto (413) Moses, {4872} Stretch forth {5186} <8798> (853) thine hand {3027} toward (5921) heaven, {8064} that there may be (1961) hail {1259} in all (3605) the land {776} of Egypt, {4714} upon (5921) man, {120} and upon (5921) beast, {929} and upon (5921) every (3605) herb {6212} of the field, {7704} throughout the land {776} of Egypt. {4714}

9:23 And Moses {4872} stretched forth {5186} <8799> (853) his rod {4294} toward (5921) heaven: {8064} and the LORD {3068} sent {5414} <8804> thunder {6963} and hail, {1259} and the fire {784} ran along {1980} <8799> upon the ground; {776} and the LORD {3068} rained {4305} <8686> hail {1259} upon (5921) the land {776} of Egypt. {4714}

9:24 So there was (1961) hail, {1259} and fire {784} [3947] <8693> mingled [8432] (3947) with (8432) the hail, {1259} very {3966} grievous, {3515} such as (834) there was (1961) none {3808} like it (3644) in all (3605) the land {776} of Egypt {4714} since (4480) (227) it became (1961) a nation. {1471}

9:25 And the hail {1259} smote {5221} <8686> throughout all (3605) the land {776} of Egypt {4714} (853) all (3605) that (834) [was] in the field, {7704} both man {120} (4480) and beast; {929} and the hail {1259} smote {5221} <8689> every (3605) herb {6212} of the field, {7704} and brake {7665} <8765> every (3605) tree {6086} of the field. {7704}

9:26 Only (7535) in the land {776} of Goshen, {1657} where (834) (8033) the children {1121} of Israel {3478} [were], was (1961) there no (3808) hail. {1259}

9:27 ¶ And Pharaoh {6547} sent, {7971} <8799> and called {7121} <8799> for Moses {4872} and Aaron, {175} and said {559} <8799> unto (413) them, I have sinned {2398} <8804> this time: {6471} the LORD {3068} [is] righteous, {6662} and I (589) and my people {5971} [are] wicked. {7563}

9:28 Intreat {6279} <8685> (413) the LORD {3068} (for [it is] enough) {7227} that there be no (4480) (1961) [more] mighty {430} thunderings {6963} and hail; {1259} and I will let you go, {7971} <8762> and ye shall stay {5975} <8800> no (3808) longer. {3254} <8686>

9:29 And Moses {4872} said {559} <8799> unto (413) him, As soon as I am gone out {3318} <8800> of (853) the city, {5892} I will spread abroad {6566} <8799> (853) my hands {3709} unto (413) the LORD; {3068} [and] the thunder {6963} shall cease, {2308} <8799> neither (3808) shall there be (1961) any more (5750) hail; {1259} that (4616) thou mayest know {3045} <8799> how that (3588) the earth {776} [is] the LORD'S. {3068}

9:30 But as for thee (859) and thy servants, {5650} I know {3045} <8804> that (3588) ye will not yet (2962) fear {3372} {6440} <8799> (4480) the LORD {3068} God. {430}

9:31 And the flax {6594} and the barley {8184} was smitten: {5221} <8795> for (3588) the barley {8184} [was] in the ear, {24} and the flax {6594} [was] bolled. {1392}

9:32 But the wheat {2406} and the rie {3698} were not (3808) smitten: {5221} <8795> for (3588) they {2007} [were] not grown up. {648}

9:33 And Moses {4872} went out {3318} <8799> of (853) the city {5892} from (4480) (5973) Pharaoh, {6547} and spread abroad {6566} <8799> his hands {3709} unto (413) the LORD: {3068} and the thunders {6963} and hail {1259} ceased, {2308} <8799> and the rain {4306} was not (3808) poured {5413} <8738> upon the earth. {776}

9:34 And when Pharaoh {6547} saw {7200} <8799> that (3588) the rain {4306} and the hail {1259} and the thunders {6963} were ceased, {2308} <8804> he sinned {2398} <8800> yet more, {3254} <8686> and hardened {3513} <8686> his heart, {3820} he (1931) and his servants. {5650}

9:35 And the heart {3820} of Pharaoh {6547} was hardened, {2388} <8799> neither (3808) would he let (853) the children {1121} of Israel {3478} go; {7971} <8765> as (834) the LORD {3068} had spoken {1696} <8765> by {3027} Moses. {4872}
