Chapter 8

1  Frogs are sent.  8  Pharaoh sueth Moses,  12  and Moses by prayer removeth them away.  16  The dust is turned into lice, which the magicians could not do.  20  The swarms of flies.  25  Pharaoh inclineth to let the people go,  32  but yet is hardened.

8:1 ¶ And the LORD {3068} spake {559} <8799> unto (413) Moses, {4872} Go {935} <8798> unto (413) Pharaoh, {6547} and say {559} <8804> unto (413) him, Thus (3541) saith {559} <8804> the LORD, {3068} Let (853) my people {5971} go, {7971} <8761> that they may serve {5647} <8799> me.

8:2 And if (518) thou (859) refuse {3986} to let [them] go, {7971} <8763> behold, (2009) I (595) will smite {5062} <8802> (853) all (3605) thy borders {1366} with frogs: {6854}

8:3 And the river {2975} shall bring forth [8317] <0> frogs [6854] abundantly, {8317} <8804> (6854) which shall go up {5927} <8804> and come {935} <8804> into thine house, {1004} and into thy bedchamber, {2315} {4904} and upon (5921) thy bed, {4296} and into the house {1004} of thy servants, {5650} and upon thy people, {5971} and into thine ovens, {8574} and into thy kneadingtroughs: {4863}

8:4 And the frogs {6854} shall come up {5927} <8799> both on thee, and upon thy people, {5971} and upon all (3605) thy servants. {5650}

8:5 ¶ And the LORD {3068} spake {559} <8799> unto (413) Moses, {4872} Say {559} <8798> unto (413) Aaron, {175} Stretch forth {5186} <8798> (853) thine hand {3027} with thy rod {4294} over (5921) the streams, {5104} over (5921) the rivers, {2975} and over (5921) the ponds, {98} and cause (853) frogs {6854} to come up {5927} <8685> upon (5921) the land {776} of Egypt. {4714}

8:6 And Aaron {175} stretched out {5186} <8799> (853) his hand {3027} over (5921) the waters {4325} of Egypt; {4714} and the frogs {6854} came up, {5927} <8799> and covered {3680} <8762> (853) the land {776} of Egypt. {4714}

8:7 And the magicians {2748} did {6213} <8799> so (3651) with their enchantments, {3909} and brought up {5927} <8686> (853) frogs {6854} upon (5921) the land {776} of Egypt. {4714}

8:8 ¶ Then Pharaoh {6547} called {7121} <8799> for Moses {4872} and Aaron, {175} and said, {559} <8799> Intreat {6279} <8685> (413) the LORD, {3068} that he may take away {5493} <8686> the frogs {6854} from (4480) me, and from my people; {5971} (4480) and I will let (853) the people {5971} go, {7971} <8762> that they may do sacrifice {2076} <8799> unto the LORD. {3068}

8:9 And Moses {4872} said {559} <8799> unto Pharaoh, {6547} Glory {6286} <8690> over (5921) me: when {4970} shall I intreat {6279} <8686> for thee, and for thy servants, {5650} and for thy people, {5971} to destroy {3772} <8687> the frogs {6854} from (4480) thee and thy houses, {1004} (4480) [that] they may remain {7604} <8735> in the river {2975} only? (7535)

8:10 And he said, {559} <8799> To morrow. {4279} And he said, {559} <8799> [Be it] according to thy word: {1697} that (4616) thou mayest know {3045} <8799> that (3588) [there is] none (369) like unto the LORD {3068} our God. {430}

8:11 And the frogs {6854} shall depart {5493} <8804> from (4480) thee, and from thy houses, {1004} (4480) and from thy servants, {5650} (4480) and from thy people; {5971} (4480) they shall remain {7604} <8735> in the river {2975} only. (7535)

8:12 And Moses {4872} and Aaron {175} went out {3318} <8799> from (4480) (5973) Pharaoh: {6547} and Moses {4872} cried {6817} <8799> unto (413) the LORD {3068} because of {1697} (5921) the frogs {6854} which (834) he had brought {7760} <8804> against Pharaoh. {6547}

8:13 And the LORD {3068} did {6213} <8799> according to the word {1697} of Moses; {4872} and the frogs {6854} died {4191} <8799> out of (4480) the houses, {1004} out of (4480) the villages, {2691} and out of (4480) the fields. {7704}

8:14 And they gathered them together {6651} <8799> (853) upon heaps: {2563} and the land {776} stank. {887} <8799>

8:15 But when Pharaoh {6547} saw {7200} <8799> that (3588) there was (1961) respite, {7309} he hardened {3513} <8687> (853) his heart, {3820} and hearkened {8085} <8804> not (3808) unto (413) them; as (834) the LORD {3068} had said. {1696} <8765>

8:16 ¶ And the LORD {3068} said {559} <8799> unto (413) Moses, {4872} Say {559} <8798> unto (413) Aaron, {175} Stretch out {5186} <8798> (853) thy rod, {4294} and smite {5221} <8685> (853) the dust {6083} of the land, {776} that it may become (1961) lice {3654} throughout all (3605) the land {776} of Egypt. {4714}

8:17 And they did {6213} <8799> so; (3651) for Aaron {175} stretched out {5186} <8799> (853) his hand {3027} with his rod, {4294} and smote {5221} <8686> (853) the dust {6083} of the earth, {776} and it became (1961) lice {3654} in man, {120} and in beast; {929} all (3605) the dust {6083} of the land {776} became (1961) lice {3654} throughout all (3605) the land {776} of Egypt. {4714}

8:18 And the magicians {2748} did {6213} <8799> so (3651) with their enchantments {3909} to bring forth {3318} <8687> (853) lice, {3654} but they could {3201} <8804> not: (3808) so there were (1961) lice {3654} upon man, {120} and upon beast. {929}

8:19 Then the magicians {2748} said {559} <8799> unto (413) Pharaoh, {6547} This (1931) [is] the finger {676} of God: {430} and Pharaoh's {6547} heart {3820} was hardened, {2388} <8799> and he hearkened {8085} <8804> not (3808) unto (413) them; as (834) the LORD {3068} had said. {1696} <8765>

8:20 ¶ And the LORD {3068} said {559} <8799> unto (413) Moses, {4872} Rise up early {7925} <8685> in the morning, {1242} and stand {3320} <8690> before {6440} Pharaoh; {6547} lo, (2009) he cometh forth {3318} <8802> to the water; {4325} and say {559} <8804> unto (413) him, Thus (3541) saith {559} <8804> the LORD, {3068} Let my people {5971} go, {7971} <8761> that they may serve {5647} <8799> me.

8:21 Else, (3588) if (518) thou wilt not (369) let (853) my people {5971} go, {7971} <8764> behold, (2009) I will send {7971} <8688> (853) swarms {6157} [of flies] upon thee, and upon thy servants, {5650} and upon thy people, {5971} and into thy houses: {1004} and the houses {1004} of the Egyptians {4714} shall be full {4390} <8804> of (853) swarms {6157} [of flies], and also (1571) the ground {127} whereon (834) (5921) they (1992) [are].

8:22 And I will sever {6395} <8689> in that (1931) day {3117} (853) the land {776} of Goshen, {1657} in (5921) which (834) my people {5971} dwell, {5975} <8802> that no {1115} swarms {6157} [of flies] shall be {1961} <8800> there; (8033) to the end {4616} thou mayest know {3045} <8799> that (3588) I (589) [am] the LORD {3068} in the midst {7130} of the earth. {776}

8:23 And I will put {7760} <8804> a division {6304} between (996) my people {5971} and thy people: {5971} to morrow {4279} shall this (2088) sign {226} be. (1961)

8:24 And the LORD {3068} did {6213} <8799> so; (3651) and there came {935} <8799> a grievous {3515} swarm {6157} [of flies] into the house {1004} of Pharaoh, {6547} and [into] his servants' {5650} houses, {1004} and into all (3605) the land {776} of Egypt: {4714} the land {776} was corrupted {7843} <8735> by reason [6440] of (4480) (6440) the swarm {6157} [of flies].

8:25 ¶ And Pharaoh {6547} called {7121} <8799> for {413} Moses {4872} and for Aaron, {175} and said, {559} <8799> Go [3212] <8798> (1980) ye, sacrifice {2076} <8798> to your God {430} in the land. {776}

8:26 And Moses {4872} said, {559} <8799> It is not (3808) meet {3559} <8737> so (3651) to do; {6213} <8800> for [2005] (3588) we shall sacrifice {2076} <8799> the abomination {8441} of the Egyptians {4714} to the LORD {3068} our God: {430} lo, (2005) shall we sacrifice {2076} <8799> (853) the abomination {8441} of the Egyptians {4714} before their eyes, {5869} and will they not (3808) stone {5619} <8799> us?

8:27 We will go [3212] <8799> (1980) three {7969} days' {3117} journey {1870} into the wilderness, {4057} and sacrifice {2076} <8804> to the LORD {3068} our God, {430} as (834) he shall command {559} <8799> (413) us.

8:28 And Pharaoh {6547} said, {559} <8799> I (595) will let you go, {7971} <8762> that ye may sacrifice {2076} <8804> to the LORD {3068} your God {430} in the wilderness; {4057} only (7535) ye shall not (3808) go [3212] <8800> (1980) very [7368] <8687> far away: {7368} <8686> intreat {6279} <8685> for (1157) me. [1157]

8:29 And Moses {4872} said, {559} <8799> Behold, (2009) I (595) go out {3318} <8802> from (4480) (5973) thee, and I will intreat {6279} <8689> (413) the LORD {3068} that the swarms {6157} [of flies] may depart {5493} <8804> from Pharaoh, {6547} (4480) from his servants, {5650} (4480) and from his people, {5971} (4480) to morrow: {4279} but {7535} let not (408) Pharaoh {6547} deal deceitfully {2048} <8763> any more {3254} <8686> in not {1115} letting (853) the people {5971} go {7971} <8763> to sacrifice {2076} <8800> to the LORD. {3068}

8:30 And Moses {4872} went out {3318} <8799> from (4480) (5973) Pharaoh, {6547} and intreated {6279} <8799> (413) the LORD. {3068}

8:31 And the LORD {3068} did {6213} <8799> according to the word {1697} of Moses; {4872} and he removed {5493} <8686> the swarms {6157} [of flies] from Pharaoh, {6547} (4480) from his servants, {5650} (4480) and from his people; {5971} (4480) there remained {7604} <8738> not (3808) one. {259}

8:32 And Pharaoh {6547} hardened {3513} <8686> (853) his heart {3820} at this (2063) time {6471} also, (1571) neither (3808) would he let (853) the people {5971} go. {7971} <8765>
