Ezekiel

Chapter 15

1  By the unfitness of the vine branch for any work  6  is shewed the rejection of Jerusalem.

15:1 ¶ And the word {1697} of the LORD {3068} came (1961) unto (413) me, saying, {559} <8800>

15:2 Son {1121} of man, {120} What (4100) is (1961) the vine {1612} tree {6086} more than any (4480) (3605) tree, {6086} [or than] a branch {2156} which (834) is (1961) among the trees {6086} of the forest? {3293}

15:3 Shall wood {6086} be taken {3947} <8714> thereof (4480) to do {6213} <8800> any work? {4399} or (518) will [men] take {3947} <8799> a pin {3489} of (4480) it to hang {8518} <8800> any (3605) vessel {3627} thereon? (5921)

15:4 Behold, (2009) it is cast {5414} <8738> into the fire {784} for fuel; {402} the fire {784} devoureth {398} <8804> (853) both {8147} the ends {7098} of it, and the midst {8432} of it is burned. {2787} <8737> Is it meet {6743} <8799> for [any] work? {4399}

15:5 Behold, (2009) when it was (1961) whole, {8549} it was meet {6213} <8735> for no (3808) work: {4399} how much less (637) shall it be meet {6213} <8738> yet (5750) for [any] work, {4399} when (3588) the fire {784} hath devoured {398} <8804> it, and it is burned? {2787} <8735>

15:6 ¶ Therefore (3651) thus (3541) saith {559} <8804> the Lord {136} GOD; {3069} As (834) the vine {1612} tree {6086} among the trees {6086} of the forest, {3293} which (834) I have given {5414} <8804> to the fire {784} for fuel, {402} so (3651) will I give {5414} <8804> (853) the inhabitants {3427} <8802> of Jerusalem. {3389}

15:7 And I will set {5414} <8804> (853) my face {6440} against them; they shall go out {3318} <8804> from [one] fire, {784} and [another] fire {784} shall devour {398} <8799> them; and ye shall know {3045} <8804> that (3588) I (589) [am] the LORD, {3068} when I set {7760} <8800> (853) my face {6440} against them.

15:8 And I will make {5414} <8804> (853) the land {776} desolate, {8077} because (3282) they have committed {4603} <8804> a trespass, {4604} saith {5002} <8803> the Lord {136} GOD. {3069}
