Chapter 35

The judgment of mount Seir for their hatred of Israel.

35:1 ¶ Moreover the word {1697} of the LORD {3068} came (1961) unto (413) me, saying, {559} <8800>

35:2 Son {1121} of man, {120} set {7760} <8798> thy face {6440} against (5921) mount {2022} Seir, {8165} and prophesy {5012} <8734> against (5921) it,

35:3 And say {559} <8804> unto it, Thus (3541) saith {559} <8804> the Lord {136} GOD; {3069} Behold, (2009) O mount {2022} Seir, {8165} I [am] against (413) thee, and I will stretch out {5186} <8804> mine hand {3027} against (5921) thee, and I will make {5414} <8804> thee most [4923] desolate. {8077} (4923)

35:4 I will lay {7760} <8799> thy cities {5892} waste, {2723} and thou (859) shalt be (1961) desolate, {8077} and thou shalt know {3045} <8804> that (3588) I (589) [am] the LORD. {3068}

35:5 Because (3282) thou hast had (1961) a perpetual {5769} hatred, {342} and hast shed {5064} <8686> [the blood of] (853) the children {1121} of Israel {3478} by (5921) the force {3027} of the sword {2719} in the time {6256} of their calamity, {343} in the time {6256} [that their] iniquity {5771} [had] an end: {7093}

35:6 Therefore, (3651) [as] I (589) live, {2416} saith {5002} <8803> the Lord {136} GOD, {3069} I will prepare {6213} <8799> thee unto blood, {1818} and blood {1818} shall pursue {7291} <8799> thee: sith {518} thou hast not (3808) hated {8130} <8804> blood, {1818} even blood {1818} shall pursue {7291} <8799> thee.

35:7 Thus will I make {5414} <8804> (853) mount {2022} Seir {8165} most [8077] desolate, {8077} and cut off {3772} <8689> from (4480) it him that passeth out {5674} <8802> and him that returneth. {7725} <8802>

35:8 And I will fill {4390} <8765> (853) his mountains {2022} with his slain {2491} [men]: in thy hills, {1389} and in thy valleys, {1516} and in all (3605) thy rivers, {650} shall they fall {5307} <8799> that are slain {2491} with the sword. {2719}

35:9 I will make {5414} <8799> thee perpetual {5769} desolations, {8077} and thy cities {5892} shall not (3808) return: {3427} <8799> [7725] k8675- and ye shall know {3045} <8804> that (3588) I (589) [am] the LORD. {3068}

35:10 Because (3282) thou hast said, {559} <8800> (853) These two {8147} nations {1471} and these two {8147} countries {776} shall be (1961) mine, and we will possess {3423} <8804> it; whereas the LORD {3068} was (1961) there: (8033)

35:11 Therefore, (3651) [as] I (589) live, {2416} saith {5002} <8803> the Lord {136} GOD, {3069} I will even do {6213} <8804> according to thine anger, {639} and according to thine envy {7068} which (834) thou hast used {6213} <8804> out of thy hatred {8135} (4480) against them; and I will make myself known {3045} <8738> among them, when (834) I have judged {8199} <8799> thee.

35:12 And thou shalt know {3045} <8804> that (3588) I (589) [am] the LORD, {3068} [and that] I have heard {8085} <8804> (853) all (3605) thy blasphemies {5007} which (834) thou hast spoken {559} <8804> against (5921) the mountains {2022} of Israel, {3478} saying, {559} <8800> They are laid desolate, {8074} <8804> k8675- [8077] they are given {5414} <8738> us to consume. {402}

35:13 Thus with your mouth {6310} ye have boasted {1431} <8686> against (5921) me, and have multiplied {6280} <8689> your words {1697} against (5921) me: I (589) have heard {8085} <8804> [them].

35:14 Thus (3541) saith {559} <8804> the Lord {136} GOD; {3069} When the whole (3605) earth {776} rejoiceth, {8055} <8800> I will make {6213} <8799> thee desolate. {8077}

35:15 As thou didst rejoice {8057} at the inheritance {5159} of the house {1004} of Israel, {3478} because (5921) (834) it was desolate, {8074} <8804> so (3651) will I do {6213} <8799> unto thee: thou shalt be (1961) desolate, {8077} O mount {2022} Seir, {8165} and all (3605) Idumea, {123} [even] all (3605) of it: and they shall know {3045} <8804> that (3588) I (589) [am] the LORD. {3068}
