Ezekiel

Chapter 6

1  The judgment of Israel for their idolatry.  8  A remnant shall be blessed.  11  The faithful are exhorted to lament their calamities.

6:1 ¶ And the word {1697} of the LORD {3068} came (1961) unto (413) me, saying, {559} <8800>

6:2 Son {1121} of man, {120} set {7760} <8798> thy face {6440} toward (413) the mountains {2022} of Israel, {3478} and prophesy {5012} <8734> against (413) them,

6:3 And say, {559} <8804> Ye mountains {2022} of Israel, {3478} hear {8085} <8798> the word {1697} of the Lord {136} GOD; {3069} Thus (3541) saith {559} <8804> the Lord {136} GOD {3069} to the mountains, {2022} and to the hills, {1389} to the rivers, {650} and to the valleys; {1516} Behold, (2009) I, [even] I, (589) will bring {935} <8688> a sword {2719} upon (5921) you, and I will destroy {6} <8765> your high places. {1116}

6:4 And your altars {4196} shall be desolate, {8074} <8738> and your images {2553} shall be broken: {7665} <8738> and I will cast down {5307} <8689> your slain {2491} [men] before {6440} your idols. {1544}

6:5 And I will lay {5414} <8804> (853) the dead carcases {6297} of the children {1121} of Israel {3478} before {6440} their idols; {1544} and I will scatter {2219} <8765> (853) your bones {6106} round about {5439} your altars. {4196}

6:6 In all (3605) your dwellingplaces {4186} the cities {5892} shall be laid waste, {2717} <8799> and the high places {1116} shall be desolate; {3456} <8799> that (4616) your altars {4196} may be laid waste {2717} <8799> and made desolate, {816} <8799> and your idols {1544} may be broken {7665} <8738> and cease, {7673} <8738> and your images {2553} may be cut down, {1438} <8738> and your works {4639} may be abolished. {4229} <8738>

6:7 And the slain {2491} shall fall {5307} <8804> in the midst {8432} of you, and ye shall know {3045} <8804> that (3588) I (589) [am] the LORD. {3068}

6:8 ¶ Yet will I leave a remnant, {3498} <8689> that ye may have (1961) [some] that shall escape {6412} the sword {2719} among the nations, {1471} when ye shall be scattered {2219} <8736> through the countries. {776}

6:9 And they that escape {6412} of you shall remember {2142} <8804> me among the nations {1471} whither (834) (8033) they shall be carried captives, {7617} <8738> because (834) I am broken {7665} <8738> with (854) their whorish {2181} <8802> heart, {3820} which (834) hath departed {5493} <8804> from (4480) (5921) me, and with (854) their eyes, {5869} which go a whoring {2181} <8802> after {310} their idols: {1544} and they shall lothe {6962} <8738> themselves {6440} for (413) the evils {7451} which (834) they have committed {6213} <8804> in all (3605) their abominations. {8441}

6:10 And they shall know {3045} <8804> that (3588) I (589) [am] the LORD, {3068} [and that] I have not (3808) said {1696} <8765> in vain {2600} (413) that I would do {6213} <8800> this (2063) evil {7451} unto them.

6:11 ¶ Thus (3541) saith {559} <8804> the Lord {136} GOD; {3069} Smite {5221} <8685> with thine hand, {3709} and stamp {7554} <8798> with thy foot, {7272} and say, {559} <8798> Alas {253} for (413) all (3605) the evil {7451} abominations {8441} of the house {1004} of Israel! {3478} for (834) they shall fall {5307} <8799> by the sword, {2719} by the famine, {7458} and by the pestilence. {1698}

6:12 He that is far off {7350} shall die {4191} <8799> of the pestilence; {1698} and he that is near {7138} shall fall {5307} <8799> by the sword; {2719} and he that remaineth {7604} <8737> and is besieged {5341} <8803> shall die {4191} <8799> by the famine: {7458} thus will I accomplish {3615} <8765> my fury {2534} upon them.

6:13 Then shall ye know {3045} <8804> that (3588) I (589) [am] the LORD, {3068} when their slain {2491} [men] shall be (1961) among {8432} their idols {1544} round about {5439} their altars, {4196} upon (413) every (3605) high {7311} <8802> hill, {1389} in all (3605) the tops {7218} of the mountains, {2022} and under (8478) every (3605) green {7488} tree, {6086} and under (8478) every (3605) thick {5687} oak, {424} the place {4725} where (834) (8033) they did offer {5414} <8804> sweet {5207} savour {7381} to all (3605) their idols. {1544}

6:14 So will I stretch out {5186} <8804> (853) my hand {3027} upon (5921) them, and make {5414} <8804> (853) the land {776} desolate, {8077} yea, more desolate {4923} than the wilderness {4057} (4480) toward Diblath, {1689} in all (3605) their habitations: {4186} and they shall know {3045} <8804> that (3588) I (589) [am] the LORD. {3068}
