2:1 ¶ Thus the heavens {8064} and the earth {776} were finished, {3615} <8792> and all (3605) the host (6635) of them. [6635]

2:2 And on the seventh {7637} day {3117} God {430} ended {3615} <8762> his work {4399} which (834) he had made; {6213} <8804> and he rested {7673} <8799> on the seventh {7637} day {3117} from all (4480) (3605) his work {4399} which (834) he had made. {6213} <8804>

2:3 And God {430} blessed {1288} <8762> (853) the seventh {7637} day, {3117} and sanctified {6942} <8762> it: because {3588} that in it he had rested {7673} <8804> from all (4480) (3605) his work {4399} which (834) God {430} created {1254} <8804> and made. {6213} <8800>

2:4 ¶ These {428} [are] the generations {8435} of the heavens {8064} and of the earth {776} when they were created, {1254} <8736> in the day {3117} that the LORD {3068} God {430} made {6213} <8800> the earth {776} and the heavens, {8064}

2:5 And every (3605) plant {7880} of the field {7704} before {2962} it was (1961) in the earth, {776} and every (3605) herb {6212} of the field {7704} before {2962} it grew: {6779} <8799> for {3588} the LORD {3068} God {430} had not {3808} caused it to rain {4305} <8689> upon (5921) the earth, {776} and [there was] not {369} a man {120} to till {5647} <8800> (853) the ground. {127}

2:6 But there went up {5927} <8799> a mist {108} from {4480} the earth, {776} and watered {8248} <8689> (853) the whole (3605) face {6440} of the ground. {127}

2:7 And the LORD {3068} God {430} formed {3335} <8799> (853) man {120} [of] the dust {6083} of {4480} the ground, {127} and breathed {5301} <8799> into his nostrils {639} the breath {5397} of life; {2416} and man {120} became (1961) a living {2416} soul. {5315}

2:8 ¶ And the LORD {3068} God {430} planted {5193} <8799> a garden {1588} eastward {6924} (4480) in Eden; {5731} and there {8033} he put {7760} <8799> (853) the man {120} whom {834} he had formed. {3335} <8804>

2:9 And out [4480] of (4480) the ground {127} made [6779] <0> the LORD {3068} God {430} to grow {6779} <8686> every (3605) tree {6086} that is pleasant {2530} <8737> to the sight, {4758} and good {2896} for food; {3978} the tree {6086} of life {2416} also in the midst {8432} of the garden, {1588} and the tree {6086} of knowledge {1847} of good {2896} and evil. {7451}

2:10 And a river {5104} went out {3318} <8802> of Eden {5731} (4480) to water {8248} <8687> (853) the garden; {1588} and from thence (4480) (8033) it was parted, {6504} <8735> and became (1961) into four {702} heads. {7218}

2:11 The name {8034} of the first {259} [is] Pison: {6376} that [1931] [is] it (1931) which compasseth {5437} <8802> (853) the whole (3605) land {776} of Havilah, {2341} where {834} (8033) [there is] gold; {2091}

2:12 And the gold {2091} of that {1931} land {776} [is] good: {2896} there (8033) [is] bdellium {916} and the onyx {7718} stone. {68}

2:13 And the name {8034} of the second {8145} river {5104} [is] Gihon: {1521} the same (1931) [is] it that compasseth {5437} <8802> (853) the whole (3605) land {776} of Ethiopia. {3568}

2:14 And the name {8034} of the third {7992} river {5104} [is] Hiddekel: {2313} that [is] it (1931) which goeth (1980) toward [1980] <8802> the east {6926} of Assyria. {804} And the fourth {7243} river {5104} [is] Euphrates. {6578}

2:15 And the LORD {3068} God {430} took {3947} <8799> (853) the man, {120} and put (5117) him [3240] <8686> into the garden {1588} of Eden {5731} to dress {5647} <8800> it and to keep {8104} <8800> it.

2:16 And the LORD {3068} God {430} commanded {6680} <8762> (5921) the man, {120} saying, {559} <8800> Of every (4480) (3605) tree {6086} of the garden {1588} thou mayest freely [398] <8800> eat: {398} <8799>

2:17 But of the tree {6086} (4480) of the knowledge {1847} of good {2896} and evil, {7451} thou shalt not (3808) eat {398} <8799> of (4480) it: for (3588) in the day {3117} that thou eatest {398} <8800> thereof (4480) thou shalt surely [4191] <8800> die. {4191} <8799>

2:18 ¶ And the LORD {3068} God {430} said, {559} <8799> [It is] not (3808) good {2896} that the man {120} should be {1961} <8800> alone; (905) I will make {6213} <8799> him an help (5828) meet [5828] for him. (5048)

2:19 And out of (4480) the ground {127} the LORD {3068} God {430} formed {3335} <8799> every (3605) beast {2416} of the field, {7704} and every (3605) fowl {5775} of the air; {8064} and brought {935} <8686> [them] unto (413) Adam [120] (121) to see {7200} <8800> what (4100) he would call {7121} <8799> them: and whatsoever (3605) (834) Adam [120] (121) called {7121} <8799> every living {2416} creature, {5315} that {1931} [was] the name (8034) thereof. [8034]

2:20 And Adam [120] (121) gave {7121} <8799> names {8034} to all (3605) cattle, {929} and to the fowl {5775} of the air, {8064} and to every (3605) beast {2416} of the field; {7704} but for Adam [120] (121) there was not (3808) found {4672} <8804> an help (5828) meet [5828] for him. (5048)

2:21 And the LORD {3068} God {430} caused [5307] <0> a deep sleep {8639} to fall {5307} <8686> upon (5921) Adam, {121} and he slept: {3462} <8799> and he took {3947} <8799> one {259} of his ribs, {6763} (4480) and closed up {5462} <8799> the flesh {1320} instead (8478) thereof;

2:22 And (853) the rib, {6763} which (834) the LORD {3068} God {430} had taken {3947} <8804> from (4480) man, {120} made {1129} <8799> he a woman, {802} and brought {935} <8686> her unto (413) the man. {120}

2:23 And Adam [120] (121) said, {559} <8799> This {2063} [is] now {6471} bone {6106} of my bones, {6106} (4480) and flesh {1320} of my flesh: {1320} (4480) she {2063} shall be called {7121} <8735> Woman, {802} because (3588) she {2063} was taken {3947} <8795> out of Man. {376} (4480)

2:24 Therefore {3651} (5921) shall a man {376} leave {5800} <8799> (853) his father {1} and his mother, {517} and shall cleave {1692} <8804> unto his wife: {802} and they shall be (1961) one {259} flesh. {1320}

2:25 And they were (1961) both {8147} naked, {6174} the man {120} and his wife, {802} and were not (3808) ashamed. {954} <8709>
