Chapter 13

1  God mustereth the armies of his wrath.  6  He threateneth to destroy Babylon by the Medes.  19  The desolation of Babylon.

        13:1 ¶ The burden 4853 of Babylon, 894 which 834x Isaiah 3470 the son 1121 of Amoz 531 did see. 2372 8804z

        13:2 Lift ye up 5375 8798z a banner 5251 upon 5921x the high 8192 8737z mountain, 2022 exalt 7311 8685z the voice 6963 unto them, shake 5130 8685z the hand, 3027 that they may go 935 8799z into the gates 6607 of the nobles. 5081

        13:3 I 589x have commanded 6680 8765z my sanctified ones, 6942 8794z I have also 1571x called 7121 8804z my mighty ones 1368 for mine anger, 639 [even] them that rejoice 5947 in my highness. 1346

        13:4 The noise 6963 of a multitude 1995 in the mountains, 2022 like 1823x as 1823y of a great 7227 people; 5971 a tumultuous 7588 noise 6963 of the kingdoms 4467 of nations 1471 gathered together: 622 8737z the LORD 3068 of hosts 6635 mustereth 6485 8764z the host 6635 of the battle. 4421

        13:5 They come 935 8802z from a far 4801y country, 776 4480x 4801x from the end 7097 4480x of heaven, 8064 [even] the LORD, 3068 and the weapons 3627 of his indignation, 2195 to destroy 2254 8763z the whole 3605x land. 776

        13:6 ¶ Howl 3213 8685z ye; for 3588x the day 3117 of the LORD 3068 [is] at hand; 7138 it shall come 935 8799z as a destruction 7701 from the Almighty. 7706 4480x

        13:7 Therefore 5921x 3651x shall all 3605x hands 3027 be faint, 7503 8799z and every 3605x man's 582 heart 3824 shall melt: 4549 8735z

        13:8 And they shall be afraid: 926 8738z pangs 6735 and sorrows 2256 shall take hold 270 8799z of them; they shall be in pain 2342 8799z as a woman that travaileth: 3205 8802z they shall be amazed 8539 8799z one 376 at 413x another; 7453 their faces 6440 [shall be as] flames. 3851 6440x

        13:9 Behold, 2009x the day 3117 of the LORD 3068 cometh, 935 8804z cruel 394 both with wrath 5678 and fierce 2740 anger, 639 to lay 7760 8800z the land 776 desolate: 8047 and he shall destroy 8045 8686z the sinners 2400 thereof out of 4480x it.

        13:10 For 3588x the stars 3556 of heaven 8064 and the constellations 3685 thereof shall not 3808x give 1984 8686z their light: 216 the sun 8121 shall be darkened 2821 8804z in his going forth, 3318 8800z and the moon 3394 shall not 3808x cause her light 216 to shine. 5050 8686z

        13:11 And I will punish 6485 8804z the world 8398 for 5921x [their] evil, 7451 and the wicked 7563 for 5921x their iniquity; 5771 and I will cause the arrogancy 1347 of the proud 2086 to cease, 7673 8689z and will lay low 8213 8686z the haughtiness 1346 of the terrible. 6184

        13:12 I will make a man 582 more precious 3365 8686z than fine gold; 6337 4480x even a man 120 than the golden wedge 3800 4480x of Ophir. 211

        13:13 Therefore 5921x 3651x I will shake 7264 8686z the heavens, 8064 and the earth 776 shall remove 7493 8799z out of her place, 4725 4480x in the wrath 5678 of the LORD 3068 of hosts, 6635 and in the day 3117 of his fierce 2740 anger. 639

        13:14 And it shall be 1961x as the chased 5080 8716z roe, 6643 and as a sheep 6629 that no 369x man taketh up: 6908 8764z they shall every man 376 turn 6437 8799z to 413x his own people, 5971 and flee 5127 8799z every one 376 into 413x his own land. 776

        13:15 Every one 3605x that is found 4672 8737z shall be thrust through; 1856 8735z and every one 3605x that is joined 5595 8737z [unto them] shall fall 5307 8799z by the sword. 2719

        13:16 Their children 5768 also shall be dashed 7376x to pieces 7376y 8792z before their eyes; 5869 their houses 1004 shall be spoiled, 8155 8735z and their wives 802 ravished. 7693 8735z 7901y 8675z

        13:17 Behold, 2009x I will stir up 5782 8688z 853x the Medes 4074 against 5921x them, which 834x shall not 3808x regard 2803 8799z silver; 3701 and [as for] gold, 2091 they shall not 3808x delight 2654 8799z in it.

        13:18 [Their] bows 7198 also shall dash 7376 0z the young men 5288 to pieces; 7376y 8762z and they shall have no 3808x pity 7355 8762z on the fruit 6529 of the womb; 990 their eye 5869 shall not 3808x spare 2347 8799z 5921x children. 1121

        13:19 ¶ And Babylon, 894 the glory 6643 of kingdoms, 4467 the beauty 8597 of the Chaldees' 3778 excellency, 1347 shall be 1961x as when God 430 overthrew 4114 853x Sodom 5467 and Gomorrah. 6017

        13:20 It shall never 5331 3808x be inhabited, 3427 8799z neither 3808x shall it be dwelt 7931 8799z in from generation 1755 to 5704x generation: 1755 neither 3808x shall the Arabian 6163 pitch tent 167 8762z there; 8033x neither 3808x shall the shepherds 7462 8802z make their fold 7257 8686z there. 8033x

        13:21 But wild beasts of the desert 6728 shall lie 7257 8804z there; 8033x and their houses 1004 shall be full 4390 8804z of doleful creatures; 255 and owls 1323 3284 shall dwell 7931 8804z there, 8033x and satyrs 8163 shall dance 7540 8762z there. 8033x

        13:22 And the wild beasts of the islands 338 shall cry 6030 8804z in their desolate houses, 490 and dragons 8577 in [their] pleasant 6027 palaces: 1964 and her time 6256 [is] near 7138 to come, 935 8800z and her days 3117 shall not 3808x be prolonged. 4900 8735z
