the sabbath:
"And on the seventhª dayª Godª endedª ° his workª which¹ he had made;ª ° and he restedª ° on the seventhª dayª from all¹ ¹ his workª which¹ he had made.ª °" {Gen 2:2} + "See,ª ° for¹ that the LORDª hath givenª ° you the sabbath,ª therefore¹ ¹ he¹ givethª ° you on the sixthª dayª the breadª of two days;ª abideª ° ye every manª in his place,¹ let no¹ manª go outª ° of his placeª ¹ on the seventhª day.ª ... thy stranger:
"In those¹ daysª sawª ° I in Judahª [some] treadingª ° wine pressesª on the sabbath,ª and bringing inª ° sheaves,ª and ladingª °¹ asses;ª as also¹ wine,ª grapes,ª and figs,ª and all¹ [manner of] burdens,ª which they brought² ° into¹ Jerusalemª on the sabbathª day:ª and I testifiedª ° [against them] in the dayª wherein they soldª ° victuals.ª" {Neh 13:15} + "Then I testifiedª ° against them, and saidª ° unto¹ them, Why¹ lodgeª ° ye¹ aboutª the wall?ª if¹ ye do [so] again,ª ° I will layª ° handsª on you. thy manservant:
"Sixª daysª thou shalt doª ° thy work,ª and on the seventhª dayª thou shalt rest:ª ° that¹ thine oxª and thine assª may rest,ª ° and the sonª of thy handmaid,ª and the stranger,ª may be refreshed.ª °" {Exd 23:12} + "Both thy bondmen,ª and thy bondmaids,ª which¹ thou shalt have,¹ [shall be] of¹ ¹ the heathenª that¹ are round aboutª you; of¹ them shall ye buyª ° bondmenª and bondmaids.ª ...
