- Kirjathjearim:
- A city of Judah, on the confines of Benjamin; distant nine miles from Alia or Jerusalem, in going towards Diospolis or Lydda, according to Eusebius. "Kirjathbaal,ª which¹ [is] Kirjathjearim,ª and Rabbah;ª twoª citiesª with their villages:ª" {Jsh 15:60} + "And the men²¹ of Kirjathjearimª came,ª° and fetched upª°¹ the arkª of the LORD,ª and broughtª° it into¹ the houseª of Abinadabª in the hill,ª and sanctifiedª° Eleazarª his sonª to keepª°¹ the arkª of the LORD.ª" {1Sm 7:1} + "So Davidª gatheredª°¹ all¹ Israelª together,²° from¹ Shihorª of Egyptª even unto¹ the enteringª° of Hemath,ª to bringª°¹ the arkª of Godª from Kirjathjearim.ª¹ ...
