a mountain:
"[[To the chief Musician,ª ° [A Psalm] of David.]]ª In the LORDª put I my trust:ª ° how¹ sayª ° ye to my soul,ª Fleeª ° [as] a birdª to your mountain?ª ... If¹ the foundationsª be destroyed,ª ° what¹ can the righteousª do?ª °" {Psa 11:1-3}

the wilderness:
Ziph is mentioned in Joshua with Carmel and Maon, near which it seems to have been situated; and as we have mention of Carmel and Maon in the history of David, as adjoining to Ziph, it cannot be doubted that by the Ziph, in the wilderness of which David now lay, and where was the hill of Hachilah, is to be understood Ziph near Carmel and Maon. "Ziph,ª and Telem,ª and Bealoth,ª" {Jsh 15:24} + "Maon,ª Carmel,ª and Ziph,ª and Juttah,ª" {Jsh 15:55}

Saul:
"And Davidª saidª ° in¹ his heart,ª I shall now¹ perishª ° oneª dayª by the handª of Saul:ª [there is] nothing¹ betterª for me than¹ that² I should speedily² ° escapeª ° into¹ the landª of the Philistines;ª and Saulª shall despairª ° of¹ me, to seekª ° me any more¹ in any¹ coastª of Israel:ª so shall I escapeª ° out of his hand.ª ¹" {1Sm 27:1} + "For¹ strangersª ° are risen upª ° against¹ me, and oppressorsª seek² ° after¹ my soul:ª they have not¹ setª ° Godª before¹ them.
