the Avites:
"And the kingª of Assyriaª broughtª ° [men] from Babylon,ª ¹ and from Cuthah,ª ¹ and from Ava,ª ¹ and from Hamath,ª ¹ and from Sepharvaim,ª and placedª ° [them] in the citiesª of Samariaª instead¹ of the childrenª of Israel:ª and they possessedª °¹ Samaria,ª and dweltª ° in the citiesª thereof." {2Kg 17:24} + "Thenª [wrote] Rehumª the chancellor,ª ª and Shimshaiª the scribe,ª and the restª of their companions;ª the Dinaites,ª the Apharsathchites,ª the Tarpelites,ª the Apharsites,ª the Archevites,ª the Babylonians,ª the Susanchites,ª the Dehavites,ª [and] the Elamites,ª" {Ezr 4:9}

Nibhaz:
Supposed to be the same as the Anubis of the Egyptians; and was in form partly a dog and partly a man.

burnt their children:
