{1 Chronicles 5:25} And they transgressed 4603 z8799 against the God 430 of their fathers, 1 and went a whoring 2181 z8799 after 310 the gods 430 of the people 5971 of the land, 776 whom x834 God 430 destroyed 8045 z8689 before 6440 x4480 them.

and went:
"And yet¹ they would not¹ hearkenª ° unto¹ their judges,ª ° but¹ they went a whoringª ° afterª otherª gods,ª and bowed² ° themselves¹ unto them: they turnedª ° quicklyª out of¹ the wayª which¹ their fathersª walked¹ in,² ° obeyingª ° the commandmentsª of the LORD;ª [but] they didª ° not¹ so.¹" {Jdg 2:17} + "And it came to pass,¹ as soon as¹ Gideonª was dead,ª ° that the childrenª of Israelª turned again,ª ° and went a whoringª ° afterª Baalim,ª and madeª ° Baalberithª their god.ª" {Jdg 8:33} + "For [so] it was,¹ that¹ the childrenª of Israelª had sinnedª ° against the LORDª their God,ª which had brought them upª °¹ out of the landª ¹ of Egypt,ª from under¹ ¹ the handª of Pharaohª kingª of Egypt,ª and had fearedª ° otherª gods,ª ... a whoring:
"Lest¹ thou makeª ° a covenantª with the inhabitantsª ° of the land,ª and they go a whoringª ° afterª their gods,ª and do sacrificeª ° unto their gods,ª and [one] callª ° thee, and thou eatª ° of his sacrifice;ª ¹" {Exd 34:15} + "And Gideonª madeª ° an ephodª thereof, and putª ° it in his city,ª [even] in Ophrah:ª and all¹ Israelª went thither a whoringª °¹ afterª it: which thing became¹ a snareª unto Gideon,ª and to his house.ª" {Jdg 8:27} + "For [so] it was,¹ that¹ the childrenª of Israelª had sinnedª ° against the LORDª their God,ª which had brought them upª °¹ out of the landª ¹ of Egypt,ª from under¹ ¹ the handª of Pharaohª kingª of Egypt,ª and had fearedª ° otherª gods,ª" {2Kg 17:7} + "Moreover¹ he¹ madeª ° high placesª in the mountainsª of Judah,ª and caused¹ the inhabitantsª ° of Jerusalemª to commit fornication,ª ° and compelledª °¹ Judahª [thereto]." {2Ch 21:11} + "But hast walked² °¹ in the wayª of the kingsª of Israel,ª and hast made¹ Judahª and the inhabitantsª ° of Jerusalemª to go a whoring,ª ° like to the whoredomsª ° of the houseª of Ahab,ª and also¹ hast slainª °¹ thy brethrenª of thy father'sª house,ª [which were] betterª than¹ thyself:" {2Ch 21:13}

after the gods:
"And they forsookª °¹ the LORDª Godª of their fathers,ª which brought them outª °¹ of the landª ¹ of Egypt,ª and followedª ² °¹ otherª gods,ª of the godsª ¹ of the peopleª that¹ [were] round aboutª them, and bowed² ° themselves¹ unto them, and provoked¹ ¹ the LORDª to anger.ª °" {Jdg 2:12} + "Now it came to pass,¹ after² that¹ Amaziahª was comeª ° from the slaughterª °¹ ¹ of the Edomites,ª that he broughtª °¹ the godsª of the childrenª of Seir,ª and set them upª ° [to be] his gods,ª and bowed down² ° himself¹ beforeª them, and burned incenseª ° unto them. ... Wherefore the angerª of the LORDª was kindledª ° against Amaziah,ª and he sentª ° unto¹ him a prophet,ª which saidª ° unto him, Why¹ hast thou sought² ° after¹ ¹ the godsª of the people,ª which¹ could not¹ deliverª °¹ their own peopleª out of thine hand?ª ¹" {2Ch 25:14-15} + "They did not¹ destroyª °¹ the nations,ª concerning whom¹ the LORDª commandedª ° them: ... Thus were they defiledª ° with their own works,ª and went a whoringª ° with their own inventions.ª" {Psa 106:34-39}
