{1 Chronicles 7:28} And their possessions 272 and habitations 4186 [were], Bethel 1008 and the towns 1323 thereof, and eastward 4217 Naaran, 5295 and westward 4628 Gezer, 1507 with the towns 1323 thereof; Shechem 7927 also and the towns 1323 thereof, unto x5704 Gaza 5804 and the towns 1323 thereof:

Bethel:
"And he calledª °¹ the nameª of that¹ placeª Bethel:ª butª the nameª of that cityª [was called] Luzª at the first.ª" {Gen 28:19} + "And goeth outª ° from Bethelª ¹ to Luz,ª and passeth alongª ° unto¹ the bordersª of Archiª to Ataroth,ª" {Jsh 16:2} + "And the houseª of Joseph,ª they¹ also¹ went upª ° against Bethel:ª and the LORDª [was] with¹ them." {Jdg 1:22}

Naaran:
Naaran, or Naarath, Eusebius says was a town in his time called Νοοραθ, Noorath, five miles from Jericho. It appears to be the same as Νεαρα, Neara, mentioned by Josephus, from whence, he says, they brought the water which watered the palm-trees of Jericho., Naarath

Gezer:
"And [the residue] of the familiesª ¹ of the sonsª of Kohathª had¹ citiesª of their coastsª out of the tribeª ¹ of Ephraim.ª ... And they gaveª ° unto them, [of]¹ the citiesª of refuge,ª ¹ Shechemª in mountª Ephraimª with her suburbs;ª [they gave] also Gezerª with her suburbs,ª" {1Ch 6:66-67}
