a son:
"And it shall come to pass,¹ when¹ thy daysª be expiredª ° that thou must go² °¹ [to be] with¹ thy fathers,ª that I will raise upª °¹ thy seedª afterª thee, which¹ shall be¹ of thy sons;ª ¹ and I will establishª °¹ his kingdom.ª" {1Ch 17:11} + "And of all¹ ¹ my sons,ª (for¹ the LORDª hath givenª ° me manyª sons,)ª he hath chosenª ° Solomonª my sonª to sitª ° upon¹ the throneª of the kingdomª of the LORDª over¹ Israel.ª ... I will give:

Solomon:
that is, Peaceable, "And Davidª comfortedª °¹ Bathshebaª his wife,ª and went¹ in² ° unto¹ her, and layª ° with¹ her: and she bareª ° a son,ª and he calledª °¹ his nameª Solomon:ª and the LORDª lovedª ° him. ... I will give peace:
