the sons of Levi:
"And the tabernacleª was taken down;ª ° and the sonsª of Gershonª and the sonsª of Merariª set forward,ª ° bearingª ° the tabernacle.ª" {Num 10:17} + "And the Kohathitesª set forward,ª ° bearingª ° the sanctuary:ª and [the other] did set upª °¹ the tabernacleª against¹ they came.ª °" {Num 10:21}

from the age:
At first David appointed the Levites to serve from thirty years old and upwards; but considering, probably, that the temple which was about to be built, with its courts, chambers, etc., would require a more numerous ministry, he fixed this period, by this subsequent regulation, at twenty years and upwards. In the time of Moses, the age was from thirty years to fifty. Here this latter period is not mentioned, probably because the service was not so laborious now; for the ark being fixed, they had no longer any burdens to carry; and therefore even an old man might continue to serve. See note on "This¹ [is it] that¹ [belongeth] unto the Levites:ª from twentyª and fiveª yearsª oldª ¹ and upwardª they shall go inª ° to wait² °² upon¹ ¹ the serviceª of the tabernacleª of the congregation:ª" {Num 8:24}.
