{1 Chronicles 26:32} And his brethren, 251 men 1121 of valour, 2428 [were] two thousand 505 and seven 7651 hundred 3967 chief 7218 fathers, 1 whom king 4428 David 1732 made rulers 6485 z8686 over x5921 the Reubenites, 7206 the Gadites, 1425 and the half 2677 tribe 7626 of Manasseh, 4520 for every x3605 matter 1697 pertaining to God, 430 and affairs 1697 of the king. 4428

men of valour:
"Also unto Shemaiahª his sonª were sonsª born,ª ° that ruledª throughout the houseª of their father:ª for¹ they¹ [were] mighty menª of valour.ª ... And Meshelemiahª had sonsª and brethren,ª strong² men,ª ¹ eighteen.ª ª" {1Ch 26:6-9}

chief fathers:
"And saidª ° unto them, Ye¹ [are] the chiefª of the fathersª of the Levites:ª sanctify² ° yourselves,¹ [both] ye¹ and your brethren,ª that ye may bring upª °¹ the arkª of the LORDª Godª of Israelª unto¹ [the place that] I have preparedª ° for it." {1Ch 15:12} + "These¹ [were] the sonsª of Leviª after the houseª of their fathers;ª [even] the chiefª of the fathers,ª as they were countedª ° by numberª of namesª by their polls,ª that didª ° the workª for the serviceª of the houseª of the LORD,ª from the ageª ¹ of twentyª yearsª and upward.ª" {1Ch 23:24} + "These¹ likewise¹ castª ° lotsª over againstª their brethrenª the sonsª of Aaronª in the presenceª of Davidª the king,ª and Zadok,ª and Ahimelech,ª and the chiefª of the fathersª of the priestsª and Levites,ª even the principalª fathersª over againstª their youngerª brethren.ª" {1Ch 24:31}

Reubenites:
"And on the other sideª ¹ of Jordan,ª of¹ the Reubenites,ª and the Gadites,ª and of the halfª tribeª of Manasseh,ª with all manner¹ of instrumentsª of warª for the battle,ª an hundredª and twentyª thousand.ª" {1Ch 12:37}

and affairs:
Heb. and thing, "And, behold,¹ Amariahª the chiefª priestª [is] over¹ you in all¹ mattersª of the LORD;ª and Zebadiahª the sonª of Ishmael,ª the rulerª of the houseª of Judah,ª for all¹ the king'sª matters:ª also the Levitesª [shall be] officersª ° beforeª you. Dealª ° courageously,ª ° and the LORDª shall be¹ with¹ the good.ª" {2Ch 19:11}; There were more Levites employed as judges with the two tribes and half on the other side of Jordan, than with all the rest of the tribes; there were two thousand seven hundred, whereas on the west side of Jordan there were only one thousand seven hundred. Either those remote tribes were not so well furnished as the rest with judges of their own, or because they lay farthest from Jerusalem, on the borders of the neighbouring nations, and were thus much in danger of being infected with idolatry, they most needed the help of Levites to prevent their running into the abominations of the idolaters.
