{2 Chronicles 1:2} Then Solomon 8010 spake 559 z8799 unto all x3605 Israel, 3478 to the captains 8269 of thousands 505 and of hundreds, 3967 and to the judges, 8199 z8802 and to every x3605 governor 5387 in all x3605 Israel, 3478 the chief 7218 of the fathers. 1

Then Solomon:
This seems to have taken place a short time after David's decease, and, according to some, in the second year of Solomon's reign; when being established in his kingdom, he convened his chief men, and spake to them concerning the solemn sacrifice which he purposed to offer to God.

to the captains:
"Then Hezekiahª the kingª rose early,ª ° and gatheredª °¹ the rulersª of the city,ª and went upª ° to the houseª of the LORD.ª" {2Ch 29:20} + "For the kingª had taken counsel,ª ° and his princes,ª and all¹ the congregationª in Jerusalem,ª to keepª ° the passoverª in the secondª month.ª" {2Ch 30:2} + "Then the kingª sentª ° and gathered togetherª °¹ all¹ the eldersª of Judahª and Jerusalem.ª ... the chief:
"And saidª ° unto them, Ye¹ [are] the chiefª of the fathersª of the Levites:ª sanctify² ° yourselves,¹ [both] ye¹ and your brethren,ª that ye may bring upª °¹ the arkª of the LORDª Godª of Israelª unto¹ [the place that] I have preparedª ° for it." {1Ch 15:12} + "And there were moreª chiefª menª foundª ° of the sonsª of Eleazarª than¹ of the sonsª of Ithamar;ª and [thus] were they divided.ª ° Among the sonsª of Eleazarª [there were] sixteenª ª chief menª of the houseª of [their] fathers,ª and eightª among the sonsª of Ithamarª according to the houseª of their fathers.ª" {1Ch 24:4} + "These¹ likewise¹ castª ° lotsª over againstª their brethrenª the sonsª of Aaronª in the presenceª of Davidª the king,ª and Zadok,ª and Ahimelech,ª and the chiefª of the fathersª of the priestsª and Levites,ª even the principalª fathersª over againstª their youngerª brethren.ª" {1Ch 24:31}
