{2 Chronicles 27:2} And he did 6213 z8799 [that which was] right 3477 in the sight 5869 of the LORD, 3068 according to all x3605 that x834 his father 1 Uzziah 5818 did: 6213 z8804 howbeit x7535 he entered 935 z8804 not x3808 into x413 the temple 1964 of the LORD. 3068 And the people 5971 did yet corruptly. 7843 z8688 x5750

And he did:
"And he didª ° [that which was] rightª in the sightª of the LORD,ª according to all¹ that¹ his fatherª Amaziahª did.ª °" {2Ch 26:4} + "And he didª ° [that which was] rightª in the sightª of the LORD:ª he didª ° according to all¹ that¹ his fatherª Uzziahª had done.ª °" {2Kg 15:34}

he entered not:
He copied his father's conduct as far as it was pious and constitutional; and avoided his transgression. "But when he was strong,² ¹ his heartª was lifted upª ° to¹ [his] destruction:ª ° for he transgressedª ° against the LORDª his God,ª and wentª ° into¹ the templeª of the LORDª to burn incenseª ° upon¹ the altarª of incense.ª ... And Uzziahª the kingª was¹ a leperª ° unto¹ the dayª of his death,ª and dwelt¹ in² ° a severalª ° house,ª [being] a leper;ª ° for¹ he was cut offª ° from the houseª ¹ of the LORD:ª and Jothamª his sonª [was] over¹ the king'sª house,ª judgingª °¹ the peopleª of the land.ª" {2Ch 26:16-21} + "My fleshª tremblethª ° for fearª ¹ of thee; and I am afraidª ° of thy judgments.ª ¹" {Psa 119:120} + "Andª of the¹ restª durstª ° no manª join¹ himself² ° to them:ª butª the¹ peopleª magnifiedª ° them.ª" {Act 5:13}

the people:
"Howbeit¹ the high placesª were not¹ removed:ª ° the peopleª sacrificedª ° and burned incenseª ° still¹ in the high places.ª He¹ builtª °¹ the higherª gateª of the houseª of the LORD.ª" {2Kg 15:35}
