he smote:
"Behold,¹ I will standª ° beforeª thee there¹ upon¹ the rockª in Horeb;ª and thou shalt smiteª ° the rock,ª and there shall comeª ° waterª out of¹ it, that the peopleª may drink.ª ° And Mosesª didª ° so¹ in the sightª of the eldersª of Israel.ª ...
