{Psalms 106:9} He rebuked 1605 z8799 the Red 5488 sea 3220 also, and it was dried up: 2717 z8799 so he led y3212 z8686 x1980 them through the depths, 8415 as through the wilderness. 4057
He rebuked:
In the descriptions of the Psalmist, everything has life. The sea is an animated being, behaves itself proudly, is rebuked, and retires in confusion. "Then the channelsª of watersª were seen,ª° and the foundationsª of the worldª were discoveredª° at thy rebuke,ª¹ O LORD,ª at the blastª¹ of the breathª of thy nostrils.ª" {Psa 18:15} + "He turnedª° the seaª into dryª [land]: they wentª° through the floodª on foot:ª there¹ did we rejoiceª° in him." {Psa 66:6} + "He dividedª° the sea,ª and caused them to pass through;ª° and he made the watersª to standª° as¹ an heap.ª" {Psa 78:13} + "But made his own peopleª to go forthª° like sheep,ª and guidedª° them in the wildernessª like a flock.ª ... And he ledª° them on safely,ª so that they fearedª° not:¹ but the seaª overwhelmedª° their enemies.ª°" {Psa 78:52-53} + "The seaª sawª° [it], and fled:ª° Jordanª was drivenª° back.ª ... Tremble,ª° thou earth,ª at the presenceª¹ of the Lord,ª at the presenceª¹ of the Godª of Jacob;ª" {Psa 114:3-7} + "To him which dividedª° the Redª seaª into parts:ª for¹ his mercyª [endureth] for ever:ª ... To him which led²°¹ his peopleª through the wilderness:ª for¹ his mercyª [endureth] for ever.ª" {Psa 136:13-16} + "And Mosesª stretched outª°¹ his handª over¹ the sea;ª and the LORDª caused¹ the seaª to go²°¹ [back] by a strongª eastª windª all¹ that night,ª and madeª°¹ the seaª dryª [land], and the watersª were divided.ª° ... And the childrenª of Israelª wentª° into the midstª of the seaª upon the dryª [ground]: and the watersª [were] a wallª unto them on their right hand,ª¹ and on their left.ª¹" {Exd 14:21-22} + "And Mosesª stretched forthª°¹ his handª over¹ the sea,ª and the seaª returnedª° to his strengthª when the morningª appeared;ª° and the Egyptiansª fledª° againstª° it; and the LORDª overthrewª°¹ the Egyptiansª in the midstª of the sea.ª ... But the childrenª of Israelª walkedª° upon dryª [land] in the midstª of the sea;ª and the watersª [were] a wallª unto them on their right hand,ª¹ and on their left.ª¹" {Exd 14:27-29} + "And thou didst divideª° the seaª beforeª them, so that they went throughª° the midstª of the seaª on the dry land;ª and their persecutorsª° thou threwestª° into the deeps,ª as¹ a stoneª into the mightyª waters.ª" {Neh 9:11} + "But they shall flyª° upon the shouldersª of the Philistinesª toward the west;ª they shall spoilª°¹ themª of the eastª together:ª they shall layª their handª upon Edomª and Moab;ª and the childrenª of Ammonª shall obeyª them. ... And there shall be¹ an highwayª for the remnantª of his people,ª whichª shall be left,ª° from Assyria;ª¹ like as¹ it was¹ to Israelª in the dayª that he came upª° out of the landª¹ of Egypt.ª" {Isa 11:14-16} + "He rebukethª° the sea,ª and maketh it dry,²°¹ and drieth up²°¹ all¹ the rivers:ª Bashanª languisheth,ª° and Carmel,ª and the flowerª of Lebanonª languisheth.ª°" {Nah 1:4} + "Andª he saithª° unto them,ª Whyª are¹ ye²° fearful,ª O ye of little faith?ª Thenª he arose,ª° and rebukedª° the¹ windsª andª the¹ sea;ª andª there wasª° a greatª calm.ª" {Mtt 8:26}
so he:
"Thy wayª [is] in the sea,ª and thy pathª in the greatª waters,ª and thy footstepsª are not¹ known.ª° ... Thou leddestª° thy peopleª like a flockª by the handª of Mosesª and Aaron.ª" {Psa 77:19-20} + "Then he rememberedª° the daysª of old,ª Moses,ª [and] his people,ª [saying], Where¹ [is] he that brought them upª° out of the seaª¹ with¹ the shepherdª° of his flock?ª where¹ [is] he that putª°¹ his holyª Spiritª withinª him? ... As a beastª goeth downª° into the valley,ª the Spiritª of the LORDª caused him to rest:ª° so¹ didst thou leadª° thy people,ª to makeª° thyself a gloriousª name.ª" {Isa 63:11-14}
