the living:
"And the cherubimsª were lifted up.ª ° This¹ [is] the living creatureª that¹ I sawª ° by the riverª of Chebar.ª" {Ezk 10:15} + "And the likenessª of the firmamentª upon¹ the headsª of the living creatureª [was] as the colourª of the terribleª ° crystal,ª stretched forthª ° over¹ their headsª above.ª ¹ ... As the appearanceª of the bowª that¹ is¹ in the cloudª in the dayª of rain,ª so¹ [was] the appearanceª of the brightnessª round about.ª This¹ [was] the appearanceª of the likenessª of the gloryª of the LORD.ª And when I sawª ° [it], I fellª ° upon¹ my face,ª and I heardª ° a voiceª of one that spake.ª °" {Ezk 1:22-28} + "Then I arose,ª ° and went forthª ° into¹ the plain:ª and, behold,¹ the gloryª of the LORDª stoodª ° there,¹ as the gloryª which¹ I sawª ° by¹ the riverª of Chebar:ª and I fellª ° on¹ my face.ª" {Ezk 3:23}

the river:
"Now it came to pass¹ in the thirtiethª year,ª in the fourthª [month], in the fifthª [day] of the month,ª as I¹ [was] amongª the captivesª by¹ the riverª of Chebar,ª [that] the heavensª were opened,ª ° and I sawª ° visionsª of God.ª" {Ezk 1:1}

and I:
"And he carvedª ° all¹ the wallsª of the houseª round aboutª with carvedª figuresª of cherubimsª and palm treesª and open² °¹ flowers,ª within² ¹ ¹ and without.ª ...
