the righteous:
The Chaldeans, so called, because appointed by God to execute his judgment on these criminals. after the manner of adulteresses:
"That¹ they have committed adultery,ª ° and bloodª [is] in their hands,ª and with¹ their idolsª have they committed adultery,ª ° and have also¹ caused¹ their sons,ª whom¹ they bareª ° unto me, to pass for them throughª ° [the fire], to devourª [them]. ... For when they had slainª °¹ their childrenª to their idols,ª then they cameª ° the same¹ dayª into¹ my sanctuaryª to profaneª ° it; and, lo,¹ thus¹ have they doneª ° in the midstª of mine house.ª" {Ezk 23:37-39} + "And I will judgeª ° thee, as women that break wedlockª ° and shedª ° bloodª are judged;ª and I will giveª ° thee bloodª in furyª and jealousy.ª ...
