That which the palmerworm hath left:
Heb. The residue of the palmer-worm, "And I will restoreª ° to you¹ the yearsª that¹ the locustª hath eaten,ª ° the cankerworm,ª and the caterpiller,ª and the palmerworm,ª my greatª armyª which¹ I sentª ° among you." {Jol 2:25} + "I have smittenª ° you with blastingª and mildew:ª when your gardensª and your vineyardsª and your fig treesª and your olive treesª increased,ª ° the palmerwormª devouredª ° [them]: yet have ye not¹ returnedª ° unto¹ me, saithª ° the LORD.ª" {Ams 4:9}; The learned Bochart, and others, are of the opinion that the four Hebrew words, gazam, yelek, arbeh, chasil, respectively rendered the palmer-worm, locust, canker-worm and caterpillar, denote four different species of locusts. the locust eaten:
"And the LORDª saidª ° unto¹ Moses,ª Stretch outª ° thine handª over¹ the landª of Egyptª for the locusts,ª that they may come upª ° upon¹ the landª of Egypt,ª and eatª °¹ every¹ herbª of the land,ª [even]¹ all¹ that¹ the hailª hath left.ª ° ... the cankerworm eaten:
"There¹ shall the fireª devourª ° thee; the swordª shall cut thee off,ª ° it shall eat thee upª ° like the cankerworm:ª make thyself manyª ° as the cankerworm,ª make thyself manyª ° as the locusts.ª ... Thy crownedª [are] as the locusts,ª and thy captainsª as the great grasshoppers,ª which campª ° in the hedgesª in the coldª day,ª [but] when the sunª arisethª ° they flee away,ª ° and their placeª is not knownª °¹ whereª they [are]." {Nah 3:15-17}

the caterpillar:
"And your spoilª shall be gatheredª ° [like] the gatheringª of the caterpiller:ª as the running to and froª of locustsª shall he runª ° upon them." {Isa 33:4} + "The LORDª of hostsª hath swornª ° by himself,ª [saying], Surely¹ ¹ I will fillª ° thee with men,ª as with caterpillers;ª and they shall lift upª ° a shoutª against¹ thee." {Jer 51:14} + "Set ye upª ° a standardª in the land,ª blowª ° the trumpetª among the nations,ª prepareª ° the nationsª against¹ her, call togetherª ° against¹ her the kingdomsª of Ararat,ª Minni,ª and Ashchenaz;ª appointª ° a captainª against¹ her; cause the horsesª to come upª ° as the roughª caterpillers.ª" {Jer 51:27}
