the end:
The Hebrew word Schabbath from which our English word is derived, signifies rest, and is applied to all solemn festivals, equally with that one day of every week devoted to the worship of God; "Notwithstanding the childrenª rebelledª° against me: they walkedª° not¹ in my statutes,ª neither¹ keptª° my judgmentsª to doª° them, which¹ [if] a manª do,ª°¹ he shall even live²°¹ in them; they pollutedª°¹ my sabbaths:ª then I said,ª° I would pour outª° my furyª upon¹ them, to accomplishª° my angerª against them in the wilderness.ª" {Ezk 20:21}, "they polluted my sabbaths." Three evangelists say, the transaction recorded in this verse, occurred upon the first day of the week, early in the morning, about sunrising, and John says, while it was yet dark. Οψε [Strong's G3796], σαββατων [Strong's G4521], does not signify "in the evening of sabbath," but "sabbaths." Hence, the great feast having been concluded, the term "end of the sabbaths" denotes the time very clearly. Again, it may be observed that the Jews, speaking of their passover, sometimes speak according to their civil computation, wherein they measured their days from sun-rising to sun-rising. Sometimes according to their sacred computation, which was from sun-set to sun-set. This reconciles "In the firstª dayª [shall be] an holyª convocation;ª ye shall doª° no manner¹¹ of servileª workª [therein]:" {Num 28:18}, which seems to make the fourteenth day of the first month, the first day of unleavened bread. "Andª when²° the¹ sabbathª was past,ª° Maryª Magdalene,ª andª Maryª the¹ [mother]² of James,ª andª Salome,ª had boughtª° sweet spices,ª thatª they might comeª° and anointª° him.ª ... Andª veryª early in the morningª the¹ firstª [day] of the¹ week,ª they cameª° untoª the¹ sepulchreª at the risingª° of the¹ sun.ª" {Mrk 16:1-2} + "And¹ they returned,ª° and² preparedª° spicesª andª ointments;ª andª restedª°² the¹¹ sabbath dayª accordingª to the¹ commandment.ª" {Lke 23:56} + "Nowª upon the¹ firstª [day] of the¹ week,ª very early in the morning,ªª they cameª° untoª the¹ sepulchre,ª bringingª° the spicesª whichª they had prepared,ª° andª certainª [others] withª them.ª" {Lke 24:1} + "Yea,² and¹ certainª womenª alsoª ofª our companyª made²° us² astonished,ª°¹ which wereª° earlyª atª the¹ sepulchre;ª" {Lke 24:22} + "ª The¹ firstª [day] of the¹ weekª comethª° Maryª Magdaleneª early,ª when it wasª° yetª dark,ª untoª the¹ sepulchre,ª andª seethª° the¹ stoneª taken awayª° fromª the¹ sepulchre.ª ... Thenª the¹ disciplesª went awayª° againª untoª their own home.ª" {Jhn 20:1-10}
Mary Magdalene:
"Amongª whichª wasª° Maryª Magdalene,ª andª Maryª the¹ motherª of Jamesª andª Joses,ª andª the¹ motherª of Zebedee'sª children.ª" {Mtt 27:56} + "Andª thereª wasª° Maryª Magdalene,ª andª the¹ otherª Mary,ª sittingª° over againstª the¹ sepulchre.ª" {Mtt 27:61}
