{Mark 16:5} And 2532 entering 1525 z5631 into 1519 the x3588 sepulchre, 3419 they saw 1492 z5627 a young man 3495 sitting 2521 z5740 on 1722 the x3588 right side, 1188 clothed y4016 z5772 in x4016 a long white y3022 garment; 4749 x3022 and 2532 they were affrighted. 1568 z5681
entering:
"Andª they entered in,ª° and foundª° notª the¹ bodyª of the¹ Lordª Jesus.ª" {Lke 24:3} + "Thenª² went inª° alsoª that¹ otherª disciple,ª which² cameª° firstª toª the¹ sepulchre,ª andª he saw,²°¹ andª believed.ª°" {Jhn 20:8}
a young:
This appears to have been a different angel from that mentioned by Matthew. The latter sat in the porch of the tomb, and had assumed a terrible appearance to overawe the guard. ("In the endª² of the sabbath,ª as it began to dawnª° towardª the firstª [day] of the week,ª cameª° Maryª Magdaleneª andª the¹ otherª Maryª to seeª° the¹ sepulchre.ª" {Mtt 28:1}); but this appeared as a young man, within the sepulchre, in the inner apartment. The two angels spoken of by John ("Butª Maryª stoodª° withoutª atª the¹ sepulchreª weeping:ª° andª asª she wept,ª° she stooped down,ª° [and looked] intoª the¹ sepulchre,ª" {Jhn 20:11}) appeared some time after these; but whether they were the same or different cannot be ascertained; nor whether the angels which manifested themselves to the second party of women, recorded by Luke ("Andª it came to pass,ª° as² theyª were much perplexedª° thereabout,ªªª behold,ª° twoª menª stood byª° themª inª shiningª° garments:ª" {Lke 24:4}), were the same or different. "Then I lifted upª°¹ mine eyes,ª and looked,ª° and behold¹ a certainª manª clothedª° in linen,ª whose loinsª [were] girdedª° with fine goldª of Uphaz:ª ... His bodyª also [was] like the beryl,ª and his faceª as the appearanceª of lightning,ª and his eyesª as lampsª of fire,ª and his armsª and his feetª like in colourª to polishedª brass,ª and the voiceª of his wordsª like the voiceª of a multitude.ª" {Dan 10:5-6} + "ª Hisª countenanceª wasª° likeª lightning,ª andª hisª raimentª whiteª asª snow:ª" {Mtt 28:3} + "Andª it came to pass,ª° as² theyª were much perplexedª° thereabout,ªªª behold,ª° twoª menª stood byª° themª inª shiningª° garments:ª ... Andª as²° theyª wereª° afraid,ª andª bowed downª° [their] facesª toª the¹ earth,ª they saidª° untoª them,ª Whyª seek¹ ye²° the¹ livingª° amongª the¹ dead?ª" {Lke 24:4-5} + "Butª Maryª stoodª° withoutª atª the¹ sepulchreª weeping:ª° andª asª she wept,ª° she stooped down,ª° [and looked] intoª the¹ sepulchre,ª ... Andª seethª° twoª angelsª inª whiteª sitting,ª° the oneª atª the¹ head,ª andª the otherª atª the¹ feet,ª whereª the¹ bodyª of Jesusª had lain.ª°" {Jhn 20:11-12}
and they:
"Butª when they¹ sawª° himª walkingª° uponª the¹ sea,ª they supposedª° it had beenª° a spirit,ª andª cried out:ª° ... Forª they allª sawª° him,ª andª were troubled.ª° Andª immediatelyª he talkedª° withª them,ª andª saithª° unto them,ª Be of good cheer:ª° it isª° I;ª be²° not² afraid.ª°¹" {Mrk 6:49-50} + "So he cameª° nearª where I stood:ª and when he came,ª° I was afraid,ª° and fellª° upon¹ my face:ª but he saidª° unto¹ me, Understand,ª° O sonª of man:ª for¹ at the timeª of the endª [shall be] the vision.²¹" {Dan 8:17} + "And I¹ Danielª alone¹ sawª°¹ the vision:ª for the men²¹ that¹ were¹ with¹ me sawª° not¹¹ the vision;ª butª a greatª quakingª fellª° upon¹ them, so that they fledª° to hide²° themselves.¹ ... Yet heardª° I¹ the voiceª of his words:ª and when I heardª°¹ the voiceª of his words,ª then was¹ I¹ in a deep sleepª° on¹ my face,ª and my faceª toward the ground.ª" {Dan 10:7-9} + "Then saidª° he unto¹ me, Fearª° not,¹ Daniel:ª for¹ from¹ the firstª dayª that¹ thou didst setª°¹ thine heartª to understand,ª° and to chasten²° thyself¹ beforeª thy God,ª thy wordsª were heard,ª° and I¹ am comeª° for thy words.ª" {Dan 10:12} + "Andª when Zachariasª sawª° [him], he was troubled,ª° andª fearª fellª° uponª him.ª" {Lke 1:12} + "Andª when she¹ sawª° [him], she was troubledª° atª hisª saying,ª andª cast in her mindª° what mannerª of salutationª thisª should be.ª° ... Andª the¹ angelª saidª° unto her,ª Fearª°° not,ª Mary:ª forª thou hast foundª° favourª withª God.ª" {Lke 1:29-30}
