And Reuben said unto them, Shed no blood; cast him into this pit that is in the wilderness, but lay no hand upon him: that he might deliver him out of their hand, to restore him to his father.

And Reubenª saidª° unto¹ them, Shedª° no¹ blood,ª [but] castª° him into¹ this¹ pitª that¹ [is] in the wilderness,ª and layª° no¹ handª upon him; that¹ he might ridª° him out of their hands,ª¹ to deliverª° him to¹ his fatherª again.²°
