And the ass said unto Balaam, Am not I thine ass, upon which thou hast ridden all thy life long unto this day? was I ever wont to do so unto thee? and he said, Nay.

And the assª saidª° unto¹ Balaam,ª [Am] not¹ I¹ thine ass,ª upon¹ which¹ thou hast riddenª° ever since¹¹ [I was] thine unto¹ this¹ day?ª was I ever²° wontª° to do¹ so²°¹ unto thee? And he said,ª° Nay.¹

And the asseª saidª° vnto¹ Balaam,ª [Am] not¹ I¹ thine asse,ª vpon¹ which¹ thou hast riddenª° euer since¹¹ I was thine, vnto¹ this¹ day?ª was I euer²° wontª° to do¹ so²°¹ vnto thee? And he said,ª° Nay.¹

And the ass says to Balaam, [Am] not I thine ass on which thou hast ridden since thy youth till this day? did I ever do thus to thee, utterly disregarding [thee]? and he said, No.

And the assª saidª° unto¹ Bil`äm בִּלעָם,ª [Am] not¹ I¹ thine ass,ª upon¹ which¹ thou hast riddenª° ever since¹¹ [I was] thine unto¹ this¹ day?ª was I ever²° wontª° to do¹ so²°¹ unto thee? And he said,ª° Nay.¹
