If there be with thee a poor man, one of thy brethren, within any of thy gates in thy land which Jehovah thy God giveth thee, thou shalt not harden thy heart, nor shut thy hand from thy poor brother;

If¹ there be¹ among you a poor manª of oneª¹ of thy brethrenª within anyª of thy gatesª in thy landª which¹ the LORDª thy Godª givethª° thee, thou shalt not¹ hardenª°¹ thine heart,ª nor¹ shutª°¹ thine handª from thy poorª brother:ª¹
