then ye shall say unto them, Because the waters of the Jordan were cut off before the ark of the covenant of Jehovah; when it passed over the Jordan, the waters of the Jordan were cut off: and these stones shall be for a memorial unto the children of Israel for ever.

Then ye shall answerª° them, That¹ the watersª of Jordanª were cut offª° beforeª¹ the arkª of the covenantª of the LORD;ª when it passed overª° Jordan,ª the watersª of Jordanª were cut off:ª° and these¹ stonesª shall be¹ for a memorialª unto the childrenª of Israelª for² ever.ª¹

Then yee shall answereª° them, That¹ the watersª of Iordanª were cut offª° beforeª¹ the Arkeª of the Couenantª of the LORD,ª when it passed ouerª° Iordan,ª the watersª of Iordanª were cut off:ª° and these¹ stonesª shall bee¹ for a memoriallª vnto the childrenª of Israelª for² euer.ª¹

then thou mayest explain to thy son, saying, The river Jordan was dried up from before the ark of the covenant of the Lord of the whole earth, when it passed it: and these stones shall be for a memorial for you for the children of Israel for ever.

Then ye shall answerª° them, That¹ the watersª of Yardën יַרדֵּןª were cut offª° beforeª¹ the arkª of the covenantª of Yähwè יָהוֶה;ª when it passed overª° Yardën יַרדֵּן,ª the watersª of Yardën יַרדֵּןª were cut off:ª° and these¹ stonesª shall be¹ for a memorialª unto the childrenª of Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵלª for² ever.ª¹
