then Israel sent messengers unto the king of Edom, saying, Let me, I pray thee, pass through thy land; but the king of Edom hearkened not. And in like manner he sent unto the king of Moab; but he would not: and Israel abode in Kadesh.

Then Israelª sentª° messengersª unto¹ the kingª of Edom,ª saying,ª° Let me, I pray thee,¹ pass¹ through²° thy land:ª but the kingª of Edomª would not¹ hearkenª° [thereto]. And in like manner¹ they sentª° unto¹ the kingª of Moab:ª but he wouldª° not¹ [consent]: and Israelª abodeª° in Kadesh.ª

Then Israelª sentª° messengersª vnto¹ the kingª of Edomª saying,ª° Let me, I pray thee,¹ passe¹ through²° thy land.ª But the kingª of Edomª would not¹ hearkenª° [thereto]: And in like maner¹ they sentª° vnto¹ the kingª of Moab:ª but hee wouldª° not¹ [consent]: & Israelª abodeª° in Kadesh.ª

And Israel sent messengers to the king of Edom, saying, I will pass, if it please thee, by thy land: and the king of Edom complied not: and [Israel] also sent to the king of Moab, and he did not consent; and Israel sojourned in Kadesh{gr.Cades}.

Then Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵלª sentª° messengersª unto¹ the kingª of ´Éđôm אֱדוֹם,ª saying,ª° Let me, I pray thee,¹ pass¹ through²° thy land:ª but the kingª of ´Éđôm אֱדוֹםª would not¹ hearkenª° [thereto]. And in like manner¹ they sentª° unto¹ the kingª of Mô´äv מוֹאָב:ª but he wouldª° not¹ [consent]: and Yiŝrä´ël יִשׂרָאֵלª abodeª° in Käđëš קָדֵשׁ.ª
