And Samuel said, Hath Jehovah as great delight in burnt-offerings and sacrifices, as in obeying the voice of Jehovah? Behold, to obey is better than sacrifice, and to hearken than the fat of rams.

And Samuelª said,ª° Hath the LORDª [as great] delightª in burnt offeringsª and sacrifices,ª as in obeyingª° the voiceª of the LORD?ª Behold,¹ to obeyª° [is] betterª than sacrifice,ª¹ [and] to hearkenª° than the fatª¹ of rams.ª

And Samuelª saide,ª° Hath the LORDª [as great] delightª in burnt offeringsª and sacrifices,ª as in obeyingª° the voiceª of the LORD?ª Behold,¹ to obey,ª° [is] betterª then sacrifice:ª¹ [and] to hearken,ª° then the fatª¹ of rammes.ª

And Samuel said, Does the Lord take pleasure in whole-burnt-offerings and sacrifices, as in hearing the words of the Lord? behold, obedience [is] better than a good sacrifice, and hearkening than the fat of rams.

And Šæmû´ël שְׁמוּאֵלª said,ª° Hath Yähwè יָהוֶהª [as great] delightª in burnt offeringsª and sacrifices,ª as in obeyingª° the voiceª of Yähwè יָהוֶה?ª Behold,¹ to obeyª° [is] betterª than sacrifice,ª¹ [and] to hearkenª° than the fatª¹ of rams.ª
