Then David put garrisons in Syria of Damascus; and the Syrians became servants to David, and brought tribute. And Jehovah gave victory to David whithersoever he went.

Then Davidª putª° garrisonsª in Syriaª of Damascus:ª and the Syriansª became¹ servantsª to David,ª [and] broughtª° gifts.ª And the LORDª preservedª°¹ Davidª whithersoever¹¹ he went.ª°

And David placed a garrison in Syria near Damascus, and the Syrians became servants and tributaries to David: and the Lord preserved David whithersoever he went.

Then Däwiđ דָּוִדª putª° garrisonsª in ´Áräm אֲרָםª of Dammäŝek דַּמָּשֶׂק:ª and the ´Árammîm אֲרַמִּיםª became¹ servantsª to Däwiđ דָּוִד,ª [and] broughtª° gifts.ª And Yähwè יָהוֶהª preservedª°¹ Däwiđ דָּוִדª whithersoever¹¹ he went.ª°
