But the princes of the children of Ammon said unto Hanun their lord, Thinkest thou that David doth honor thy father, in that he hath sent comforters unto thee? hath not David sent his servants unto thee to search the city, and to spy it out, and to overthrow it?

And the princesª of the childrenª of Ammonª saidª° unto¹ Hanunª their lord,ª Thinkestª thou that Davidª doth honourª°¹ thy father,ª that¹ he hath sentª° comfortersª° unto thee? hath not¹ Davidª [rather] sentª°¹ his servantsª unto¹ thee, toª searchª°¹ the city,ª and to spy it out,ª° and to overthrowª° it?

Hath not¹ Dauidª rather sentª°¹ his seruantsª vnto¹ thee, toª searchª°¹ the citie,ª and to spie it out,ª° and to ouerthrowª° it?

And the princes of the children of Ammon said to Annon their lord, [Is it] to honour thy father before thee that David has sent comforters to thee? Has not David rather sent his servants to thee that they should search the city, and spy it out and examine it?

And the princesª of the childrenª of `Ammôn עַמּוֹןª saidª° unto¹ Çänûn חָנוּןª their ´áđôn אֲדוֹן,ª Thinkestª thou that Däwiđ דָּוִדª doth honourª°¹ thy father,ª that¹ he hath sentª° comfortersª° unto thee? hath not¹ Däwiđ דָּוִדª [rather] sentª°¹ his servantsª unto¹ thee, toª searchª°¹ the city,ª and to spy it out,ª° and to overthrowª° it?
