And it came to pass on the seventh day, that the child died. And the servants of David feared to tell him that the child was dead; for they said, Behold, while the child was yet alive, we spake unto him, and he hearkened not unto our voice: how will he then vex himself, if we tell him that the child is dead!

And it came to pass¹ on the seventhª day,ª that the childª died.ª° And the servantsª of Davidª fearedª° to tellª° him that¹ the childª was dead:ª° for¹ they said,ª° Behold,¹ while the childª was¹ yet alive,ª we spakeª° unto¹ him, and he would not¹ hearkenª° unto our voice:ª how¹ will he then²° vexª¹ himself,²° if we tellª°¹ him that the childª is dead?ª°

And it came to passe¹ on the seuenthª day,ª that the childeª died:ª° and the seruantsª of Dauidª fearedª° to tellª° him that¹ the childª was dead:ª° for¹ they saide,ª° Behold,¹ while the childeª was¹ yet aliue,ª we spakeª° vnto¹ him, and he would not¹ hearkenª° vnto our voice:ª how¹ will he then²° vexeª¹ himselfe,²° if we tellª°¹ him that the childeª is dead?ª°

And it came to pass on the seventh day that the child died: and the servants of David were afraid to tell him that the child was dead; for they said, Behold, while the child was yet alive we spoke to him, and he hearkened not to our voice; and thou should we tell him that the child is dead?-- so would he do [himself] harm.
