But Amasa took no heed to the sword that was in Joab's hand: so he smote him therewith in the body, and shed out his bowels to the ground, and struck him not again; and he died. And Joab and Abishai his brother pursued after Sheba the son of Bichri.

But Amasaª took no¹ heedª° to the swordª that¹ [was] in Joab'sª hand:ª so he smoteª° him therewith in¹ the fifthª [rib], and shed outª° his bowelsª to the ground,ª and struck¹ him not¹ again;²° and he died.ª° So Joabª and Abishaiª his brotherª pursuedª° afterª Shebaª the sonª of Bichri.ª

And Amasa{gr.Amessai} observed not the dagger that was in the hand of Joab: and Joab smote him with it on the loins, and his bowels were shed out upon the ground, and he did not repeat the blow, and he died: and Joab and Abessai his brother pursued after Sheba{gr.Sabee} the son of Bichri{gr.Bochori}.
