And it came to pass, when they were gone over, that Elijah said unto Elisha, Ask what I shall do for thee, before I am taken from thee. And Elisha said, I pray thee, let a double portion of thy spirit be upon me.

And it came to pass,¹ when they were gone over,ª° that Elijahª saidª° unto¹ Elisha,ª Askª° what¹ I shall doª° for thee, before¹ I be taken awayª° from¹¹ thee. And Elishaª said,ª° I pray thee,¹ let a doubleª portionª of thy spiritª be¹ upon¹ me.
