Then said Eliakim the son of Hilkiah, and Shebnah, and Joah, unto Rabshakeh, Speak, I pray thee, to thy servants in the Syrian language; for we understand it: and speak not with us in the Jews' language, in the ears of the people that are on the wall.

Then saidª° Eliakimª the sonª of Hilkiah,ª and Shebna,ª and Joah,ª unto¹ Rabshakeh,ª Speak,ª° I pray thee,¹ to¹ thy servantsª in the Syrian language;ª for¹ we¹ understandª° [it]: and talkª° not¹ with¹ us in the Jews' languageª in the earsª of the peopleª that¹ [are] on¹ the wall.ª

And Eliakim{gr.Heliakim} the son of Chelkias, and Shebna{gr.Somnas}, and Joash{gr.Joas}, said to Rabshakeh{gr.Rapsakes}, Speak now to thy servants in the Syrian language, for we understand it; and speak not with us in the Jewish language: and why dost thou speak in the ears of the people that are on the wall?

Then saidª° ´Elyäkîm אֶליָקִיםª the sonª of Çilkiyyà חִלקִיָּה,ª and Ševnä´ שֶׁבנָא,ª and Yô´äç יוֹאָח,ª unto¹ Rav Šäkì רַב־שָׁקֵה,ª Speak,ª° I pray thee,¹ to¹ thy servantsª in the ´Árämîŧ אֲרָמִית language;ª for¹ we¹ understandª° [it]: and talkª° not¹ with¹ us in the Yæhûđîm's יְהוּדִים languageª in the earsª of the peopleª that¹ [are] on¹ the wall.ª
