And David said, Whosoever smiteth the Jebusites first shall be chief and captain. And Joab the son of Zeruiah went up first, and was made chief.

And Davidª said,ª° Whosoever¹ smitethª° the Jebusitesª firstª shall be¹ chiefª and captain.ª So Joabª the sonª of Zeruiahª went²° first² up,ª°¹ and was¹ chief.ª

And Dauidª said,ª° Whosoeuer¹ smitethª° the Iebusitesª first,ª shall be¹ chiefe,ª and captaine.ª So Ioabª the sonneª of Zeruiahª went²° first² vp,ª°¹ and was¹ chiefe.ª
