For this deed of the queen will come abroad unto all women, to make their husbands contemptible in their eyes, when it shall be reported, The king Ahasuerus commanded Vashti the queen to be brought in before him, but she came not.

For¹ [this] deedª of the queenª shall come abroadª° unto¹ all¹ women,ª so that they shall despiseª° their husbandsª in their eyes,ª when it shall be reported,ª° The kingª Ahasuerusª commandedª°¹ Vashtiª the queenª to be brought inª° beforeª him, but she cameª° not.¹

For¹ [this] deedª of the queeneª shall come abroadª° vnto¹ all¹ women,ª so that they shal despiseª° their husbandsª in their eyes,ª when it shall bee reported;ª° The kingª Ahasuerusª commandedª°¹ Uasthiª the queeneª to be brought inª° beforeª him, but she cameª° not.¹

for he has told them the words of the queen, and how she disobeyed the king. As then, [said he], she refused [to obey] king Artaxerxes,
