So it came to pass, when the king's commandment and his decree was heard, and when many maidens were gathered together unto Shushan the palace, to the custody of Hegai, that Esther was taken into the king's house, to the custody of Hegai, keeper of the women.

So it came to pass,¹ when the king'sª commandmentª and his decreeª was heard,ª° and when manyª maidensª were gathered togetherª° unto¹ Shushanª the palace,ª to¹ the custodyª of Hegai,ª that Estherª was broughtª° also unto¹ the king'sª house,ª to¹ the custodyª of Hegai,ª keeperª° of the women.ª

So it came to passe,¹ when the kingsª commandementª and his decreeª was heard,ª° and when manyª maidensª were gathered togetherª° vnto¹ Shushanª the palace,ª to¹ the custodieª of Hegai,ª that Estherª was broughtª° [also] vnto¹ the kingsª house,ª to¹ the custodieª of Hegai,ª keeperª° of the women.ª

And because the king's ordinance was published, many damsels were gathered to the city Shushan{gr.Susa} under the hand of Ai{gr.Gai}; and Esther was brought to Ai{gr.Gai} the keeper of the women.

So it came to pass,¹ when the king'sª commandmentª and his decreeª was heard,ª° and when manyª maidensª were gathered togetherª° unto¹ Šûšan שׁוּשַׁןª the palace,ª to¹ the custodyª of Hëqay הֵגַי,ª that ´Estër אֶסתֵּרª was broughtª° also unto¹ the king'sª house,ª to¹ the custodyª of Hëqay הֵגַי,ª keeperª° of the women.ª
